yup, textile jacket...

All i remember is the rear sliding out from under me, and the next thing i remember is slamming on the ground really hard.. i probably did chop the throttle.

When i landed, i was a good 10 feet from the bike. the first thing i did was crawl over to the bike to shut it off.

The word you're looking for is vulva. And if you don't know a vulva from an ulna, remind me never to sleep with you. :p

What if I knew my ass from a hole in the ground? Would you sleep with me then?

damn... double damn.

I just got back from the doctor's.. Looks like both casts will be on for another 3 weeks. I was hoping one could come off today.

The good news is that my recovery is doing really well.

Looks like, i'll be resting for the next 3 weeks.. Im buying an xbox360 tonight!

Stan,

Get MotoGP 06 for the 360.

I DON'T care what ANYONE says about how video games about motorcycling do nothing to teach you about motorcycling.

I can confirm (at this point only for me) that playing MotoGP had a positive influence in my timing for tipping into a corner later, rather than sooner; squaring off corners where that was appropriate in order to hit a later apex and become resistant to going wide on exit.

It's so obvious how much better a later vs earlier turn-in is in MotoGP (almost all of the time) that after turning literally hundreds upon hundreds of laps and thousands of (simulated) turns the mental timing of the game transfers to real motorcycling... Maybe only a "little" maybe only a tiny amount, but definitely a positive influence IF you work at turning fast laps in the game and riding smoothly in simulation.

Let's just hope that my gunning down rival gang members in Saints Row has NO effect on my timing :)

**UPDATE** 9/29/06

So it's been exactly 27 days since the accident, and I just saw the doctor for my LAST set of x-rays.

Casts are removed and i'm 100% healed!!!!!! :teeth :teeth

Sure, I got some work to do in order to get full movement back, but both wrists are healed and I feel no pain.

Doc, says I should be back to normal in 2-weeks.

I was gonna go ride the bike tonight, but the damn clutch slave cylinder is broken.

-

I must admit, it was quite fun having 2 casts on for the past month. I got lots of attention and when I rolled up to a busy bar, I can order a drink with NO PROBLEMS. Just by slamming one of my arms into the bar. Peeps would open doors for me, and I got extra treatment everywhere I went.

And if I don't like someone, I can 'accidently' hit them with my casts and they won't even mind.

Chicks felt bad for me, and gave me a lot of sympathy :p :p

oh well, back to the boring normal everyday life that is me. :(

Dude, all you guys taunting me with c-grade horror movie skin and scents of dead bodies were *ALL* wrong.

my casts don't stink, and my arms were perfect when the casts were removed. After a good scrub, you couldn't even tell that I had casts on for the past month.

I could totally ride the bike right now -- but the damn thing is busted.

The doc was very surprised at how fast I healed.. i swear, it must have been all those supplements I took.

This is a good lesson in scrutinizing all the so called 'experts' sarcastic replies to thoughtful posts.

Humble Pie is served to AFM956 who bellowed:

"Damn BARF is full of experts.
They have not used mold release in ten years. The new tires are just shiny. You just need to gently ride them around...... Most of us on the track break them in with ONE lap.
And encouraging someone to sue for not breaking in tires properly? I hope I NEVER ride within ten miles of BMER97, he sounds like the kind of guy who wants to sue Johnson and Johnson because their toilet paper inflames his suppurating hemerhoids."

Put the following up your "suppurating hemerhoids" (whatever you were trying to say)

Michelin’s web site documents the following:

"Break-in: Avoid rapid acceleration or hard cornering for the first 50 kilometers after mounting new tyres. Increase lean angle progressively until the tyre’s mold release compound is completely worn off the tread area."

BTW: there really is a big difference in track vs highway riding. extrapolating from one to the other can be misleading and dangerous. Apples and Pears IMO.

My final update:

I can't believe it's been 4-months since my accident. My left wrist is about 95% normal, but my right wrist still bugs me. My range of motion sucks, and I still feel pain when rotating my arms. I'm afraid, i'll probably have to live with this pain for the rest of my life.

The good news:

I secretly consulted a lawyer after the accident, and I filed a lawsuit against Michelin Corp. I think my tire may have been faulty and it was sent to their HQ in France for analysis. After a few months, they offered to settle, and did not state the findings of their investigation. The lawsuit never left the ground.

In the end, I was offered $300,000 and I accepted. After lawyer's fees, misc. expenses, I finally deposited the remainder balance into my checking account yesterday. A cool $276,569.29

End of story:hand
