Instead of obsessing on lawyers, how about considering another point contained in my original post:

"A study (magazine article would do) examining the friction coefficients and braking and swerving distances for new versus seasoned tires would be interesting. I would prefer this type of article over "will the new Hayabusa really have 200+ hp????" and similar articles."

It may be that there is NOT a traction problem with new tires; needs tested though!

:cool

I think there should also be an in-depth article on why you shouldn't stick a butter knife in a wall socket. It could have saved a few. ;)

sorry to hear about the crash dude! that's terrible. hope you get well quick. i didn't read all 17 pages, but how's the bike?

how are the wrists healing up? how are you typing with broken wrists?

you know what sucks about having two broken wrists and the healing time involved? not being able to have make up sex with yourself!

Stan,

Did you perhaps go to Kaiser Santa Teresa? I was just in there yesterday afternoon with a spiral lower tib/fib fracture from an accident at Metcalf on the Husky; and one of the doctors was mentioning that he had done a dual wrist fracture recently. We were talking about how it can impact your ability to do everyday talks, and he commented that dual wrist casts can make it a challenge!

the bike is fine, just cosmetics and very few parts needed. bike runs fine as-is.

surprisingly, i can type just fine... just get tired faster, since i dont have my wrists to support on the keyboard.

Damn! I saw this message thread title a while ago but didn't notice it was Stan!

I'm sorry to hear about your accident Stan :( I have no advice having never broken even a single wrist...

I hope that you heal quick and are back to riding as soon as possible!

Let them know that a Barf photo of the two of them in some baby doll PJ's will cheer Stan up and will aid in his recovery. ;)

That's just mean Janna - he can't even play with his "desmo valves"?

May I suggest a fleshlight, Stan? :laughing

Yes. A fleshlight. NWS -- you are warned.

(btw, is it just me, or does the fleshlight make anyone hear this song in their head: "Feed me, Seymour... feed me all night long..."? )

Jocelyn yes, Eri, decidedly not... She's doesn't seem to do well with the cutesy "little girl" image. In fact, the three of us were watching Mr. and Mrs. Smith the last time she was staying with us and when Angelina Jolie took off her coat in that scene, and had the dominatrix dress on underneath, J and I laughed, but Eri said "I like that..."

We heard crickets chirping for a few seconds afterwards... :laughing

damn... double damn.

I just got back from the doctor's.. Looks like both casts will be on for another 3 weeks. I was hoping one could come off today.

The good news is that my recovery is doing really well.

Looks like, i'll be resting for the next 3 weeks.. Im buying an xbox360 tonight!

Stan you knob! I'm due for new rubber on my SV very soon. This is not the sort of encouraging story I wished to hear!

Sorry to hear about the crash, homie. Wearing one cast was infuriating, I can't imagine having two. Were you wearing your textile jacket when this happened? I can't quite tell from the photo which jacket it was, but it's amazing how rashed it is from a 20mph slide.

One other question about the crash if you remember -- did you come off the gas when you felt your ass sliding?

Beer's on me next time I see you.
