Name a bike that fits these parameters

Frame Maker

Well-known member
17/17 or 17/19 tire sizes, or can be somewhat easily converted to 17/17 tire size
Streetfighter or fully upright ergonomics (not sport bike)
Lightweight (sub 400lb WET, preferably closer to 350lb)
Reliable 50-60hp (or more)

The only thing I can think of is the latest 690 duke. Is there anything else?

If it doesn't come like this from the factory, what chassis/motor would you couple in order to achieve it?

No one I know has kept an FZ07 more than a few months. It's a great motor but a wonky chassis.

I am really upset that the only bike that really fits these requirements are big dirtbikes...

Also I am 6ft tall... I would prefer something a little more open.. but not quite a dirtbike which can barely break 100mph.

:laughing

What is the technical difference between "kick you in the face" and "rip your face off"?

Okay, my conclusion is that you need an AK-1. These are specialty sport bikes built around an EX500 engine. Fun, but won't rip your face off. Very close to your reliable 50hp target. Will easily go 100+mph (Chris Ulrich kept up with his dad who was riding an RS250 while doing a track test session at Willow Springs).

But the high point of these bikes is the chassis. 320 lbs in race trim + a few lbs with street gear. Overall the chassis is amazing. I have boxes of AFM trophies and Jr and Sr Ulrich both gave a very positive review after riding. Its also very fun and handles amazing on the street.

The ergos are perfect for someone 6'+ as it has a fairly tall seat height for a sport bike and fairly relaxed (upright) riding position (Jr Ulrich's only complaint). With a conventional handle bar installed, its very comfortable for long rides.

And of course 17" wheels as requested. And the best part, you won't see 10 more of them when you go to your favorite moto destination. Let me know when you want to stop by for a test ride :ride
