My R6 wont wheelie

i ride moto a lot, and i can pull a solid wheelie in 3rd without clutch on a 250r easily. the problem is pulling my heavier R6 up. i think im just scared of the power this bloody machine has.

I need to see this! I've been stunting ninja 2fiddys with upgraded intake and exhaust for almost 4 years and can't imagine getting a "solid" power wheelie in 3rd

Pretty sure he is referring to a dirt bike 250r, would still enjoy seeing a "solid" 3rd gear wheelie.

here you go, this was in 2nd power wheelie sitting. for 3rd i just stand, get mid rpm range and bounce the forks with throttle as it rebounds up.

look at how bent your arms are. Im sure you did not start your wheelie with your arms that bent which means you are leaning forward. for sitting wheelies keeps your arms extended and go back with the bike. If you bend your arms you are killing your poor little wheelies.

Yeah years ago when I had a 929 and used to do high speed freeway wheelies, one guy said my r6 won't do that .
We switched bikes and standing I brought his r6 up at around 75 in 3rd on the freeway no problem.

I do not do this much anymore.

You're missing one important thing...the revs are there but the throttle turn is not. When you go to clutch it up in second, give the throttle a good twist and get that clutch out fast....you need both revs and throttle in order to go from the little bump to the actual wheelie.

i see, so should i let that clutch out as the rpms are climbing around 8-12k or should i let it out as the revs reach about 15-18k?

got it, roll at about 6k in 2nd and roll up to 12k and pop?

Not sure man, I don't do clutch wheelies. I worry about real riding techniques :ride.

If you want to pop wheelies buy a standard bike with gobs of torque, you have an R6, so go use it for what it was designed for.

Maybe use a bump in road? Hwy 9 and the intersection of pescadero and alpine both have great spots for clutch less power wheelies. The pesky one is pretty isolated and if you keep the noise down you can do a few trials on a slow weekday.
