Watched some of today's testing. Only interesting parts were Iker Lecuona getting real comfortable on the KTM and Marc Marquez highsiding early in Turn 13. MM was uninjured but the bike was a yard sale. Marc spent some time in the gravel trap picking up various pieces he could then stash with the bike and out of public view. Yamaha team spotters outside Turn 13 immediately had their cameras out to take pics of whatever HRC bits they could see.

As usual, there were several crashes but no injuries when I stopped watching. Nothing radical on the few new new bikes that were on track. I guess Gigi is waiting until later to bring out his subterfuge mods.

You can tell he’s thinking about what the boss is gonna say when he gets back to the garage.

IMO...

Zarco should be out of MotoGP. Definitely the biggest bitch in the paddock by throwing shade at Borenzo and then at Ducati/Avintia.

Frenchie said:
"Even if some [MotoGP] solution can be done, I will not take anything at any price because I don’t want to make the same mistake as one year ago [joining KTM]. Just for this reason, I will think well," Zarco said.

"I know it's still possible for me to do [well in MotoGP]. I know I didn't lose everything, even if I need to learn again and regain some good confidence. But now it's just time to wait a little bit, calm down after this weekend and we will see.

"I have no regrets about my decision from this summer because I've been lucky finally to be released by KTM earlier in the season and to have this opportunity with Lucio.

"And the way I've done it has been like a gentlemanly way, to say clearly and honestly to KTM that I don’t want to continue in 2020, early in the season, to give them the time to prepare for the future.

"I think this way was a good way because we can see this weekend that not everyone is acting in that way, even if they are champions. So just for this I prefer my way to go."

Ya gotta wonder. One of those bad crashes can easily cost $50-100k. But I guess that's the price of having the best rider in the world on your team. MM could get a ride tomorrow from any manufacturer.

Welcome to the club. You still get a membership card but you missed out on the steak knives because you weren't an early adopter.

The forks, believe it or not, are around $100k. :laughing

The Brembo calipers and the rotors are way over $10k.

The FIM has capped the price of the front brake kit at €70 000 (excluding taxes), including three pairs of calipers, three cylinders, 10 carbon discs, and 28 pads. If a team needs more pieces to complete the season, they have to buy them separately.

Not as fast as I look.
Seems reasonable. I just checked the pricing on Bugatti Veyron tires, since, ya' know, they are coming out with a new supercar and I figured I could pick up a Veyron for cheap, like 1.5m or 2m or so.

Anyway, the tires are $30K. To mount them is $70K. And they can only be mounted in France. So there is that little ditty to the get the car there. I love Paris, so I would probably drive to get it serviced. :burnout
