Some guys have paid to race in MotoGP recently. Much of the Moto2 and Moto3 grid pays to race. Paulo Ciabatti of Ducati said Rea is paid a million euro a year and Ducati can only afford to pay half that in WSBK. Its why Bautista left for Honda. Supposedly Bautista was getting 20,000 or 25,000 Euro win bonuses last year in WSBK and he had a lot of wins; probably a lot more than Ducati budgeted for and I'm sure that caused some tension.

So its very likely that Cal would make more from Aprilia and his personal sponsors in MotoGP than he could in WSBK.

The FIM has canceled MotoGP races scheduled for Argentina, Thailand and Malaysia for 2020. Portimao is likely to be added to the MotoGP calendar after Valencia to create a 15-race season.

MotoGP at Portimao is gonna be RAD! I attended WSBK there in 2018, hiked around and scoped out every inch. So many ups and downs and blind spots. Very technical. Hope the F1 cars don't mess it up too much.
