How does that Alpinestars conflict of interest work exactly? Let's have some more facts: Alpinestars isn't even a main sponsor of Clinica Mobile, not even a top four. Quiron salud (title), carestream, europ assistance, and GE healthcare make up the top four. Alpinestars is mixed in with all the scrub sponsors, including Dainese. I seriously doubt anyone from Alpinestars is rushing down to make sure their riders are getting back in the game. I'm going to trust that the healthcare sponsors are making sound investments in the clinic.

Furthermore, I'm glad motorcycle racing is set up the way it is. I think they do a good job with head injuries and the like. I don't want independent commissions. I want best teams/riders having the best surgeons doing their work so we can have the best product on the track. You can't have some nanny doctors controlling your sport. If your head is right and you can ride, ride.

The same people who report and treat injuries sustained while wearing safety gear should not be sponsored by that gear

That the medical commision has sponsors at all is insane. It should be an independent entity funded by sanctioning fees

I’m
Sure we’ll agree to disagree.

There is obviously something wrong. There is no way any rider should have been allowed back in the paddock that soon with that type of injury.

I bet if Marquez hadn’t have been injured (and subsequently cleared) neither Rins nor Crutchlow would have ridden last weekend.

mm did put up 1:38

woulda done fine if he had enough pain killers to ride the 25 laps

hard to judge ppl when they are getting paid like 1 million dollars per 1 hr of televised work.... there is no "normal" for that echelon

even harder to swallow when they get told this 1 hr can garner or diminish your wages for your future if you do/dont ride

If MM would've had enough painkillers, I envision him like a well-buzzed Colin Edwards walking through the wsbk paddock with a Corona beer on a Sunday evening at Laguna many many (2002ish) years ago: We stopped him and to our surprise he offered up a bunch of beers and signed my pass. We were too stupid to take him up on the beer offer.

But reality is Puig probably fills Marquez's seven day pill strip and governs his waking hours to the minute. I'm with Ernie to the extent I'd like him to be more of a normal fun loving dude toward the public, but Puig-filtered MM ruins it for the rest of us. Will at some point MM divorce Puig? I doubt it. If it ain't broke....(npi)

Yeah, the regimentation and ultra contrived...EVERYTHING about 93 and everything around him sucks the fun out of the room/event.

Rossi stopping on the cool-down lap, climbing on the tires and waving to the “crowd” was totally fun and genuine. I don’t see 93 or his squad having that idea (until now, I guess..). MM’s too scripted to be spontaneous. He would have had to coordinate with Honda, Repsol, Puig and Dorna to do something so spur of the moment.

On to BRUNO!!

I was really hoping Rossi would fire off his own yellow smoke canister and throw his gloves into the stands. We get flashes of MM's down to earth personality during press conferences and rostrum interviews, but the assumed muzzle is annoying. I'm sure Dorna and Repsol would much prefer a Rossi-like personality from MM.

Yup. Rossi has the spirit. I remember JLo and some of his antics, and they were always staged and forced. Rossi really is a blithe spirit with a great sense of humor.

I think we could see some of it from Fabio.. the kid has personality.

Binder a little less but still may mature into a more fun loving dude once he gets some luck on the good side.

Miller is fun... straight up like Colin in ways.. maybe not as free to throw out shit, but with more success I think the shit will come. :laughing
