Wow, pretty eye opening stuff in here. Its things like this that cross my mind, but I just had the "hope for the best, but expect the worst" theory playing over and over in my head...

I've only been on two wheels for almost 6 months, but I can take this and run with it.. The one thing I do now that I didnt before was give myself about 5-10 second of space in front of me.. Its worked for me thus far, but getting the tailgaters off my ass.... thats been a bigger challenge...

Tailgaters

...getting the tailgaters off my ass has been a bigger challenge.

I make a gentle "slowdown" gesture with my left hand. Surprisingly, it works more often than not. Otherwise I pull over at the first safe opportunity, and let the tailgater over take me.
