Winning all four in the AMA: Flat Track Mile, Flat Track Half Mile, Flat Track TT, Roadrace (Superbike). Hayden just needs a Mile win for the Grand Slam and he was really close at Del Mar, IIRC.

Nicky come back to US and find out young guns are younger than him and fasttttttttttttttttttttttt.

Its not like he hasn't been on a flat track bike since 2002. Hayden still trains on flat track with riders like JD Beach and others. Supposedly the couple laps he turned on the Ducati FT bike at Indy a few years ago were fast enough to be one of the top five (or better) for the Expert Twins heats that night, IIRC.

Hayden needs to not sign with any SBK teams until Cal makes the mistake of Signing with Ducati, and then look at the Tech 3 seat. I would love to see what Hayden can do with that bike.

surely Nicky's FT skills have atrophied, & I really don't remember him being up front often on Miles

that said, if the Mile opportunity ever happens[......], Nicky can get tuned up pretty quick at home

it's a HUGE ask for him to actually win - but my fave country boy knows how to work!

Pol is already signed for Cal's seat. There are literally no factory seats available except for Ducati.

Bautista is on a two year contract to 2014

LCR won't let Bradl go.

Honda no way.

Smith has 2 year deal with Tech 3.

Yamaha no way.

If I was Cal or Hayden, I would still try for a Duc seat bide my time for 2015 and make a bid for a factory Suzuki seat.

Rolls with it...
You mean this?

"...After the success of 2006 Superbike, Ducati offered Bayliss a wildcard entry in the final MotoGP race of the year in Valencia, due to Sete Gibernau being injured..."

... and had half as many wins that year as 2006 champion Nicky Hayden! :laughing

Bradl and especially Bautista are on the hot seat. There is a very real possibility of one Satellite bike seat being open at the end of the year. I think Nakamoto even said that he thinks the sat. honda riders are underperforming few weeks back in an interview.

And Pol has not been signed yet, I think they are still talking about it, Also there is some rumors going on about Tech 3 running three GP bikes next year.

Yea sure - cite your source, bub.

He did in this thread, citing a Cal interview in MCN today:

Cal Crutchlow
Nobody has confirmed that anybody is leaving. But I am interested in going to a factory that is behind me 100%. At the moment things are tough for Andrea and Nicky (Hayden) but that doesn’t mean it won’t get better and they won’t put 100% in and things could change in the future. It is clear we are going to speak to everybody. If Yamaha have told me there is no space for me in 2015 then I am only right to speak to other people.

People seem to forget though when telling me not to move to another factory or team is that Yamaha already has two riders in Tech 3 next year. They have a contract signed with Bradley (Smith) and they have signed Pol (Espargaro).

Like I already said, Bautista is on a 2 YEAR contract to help develop Showa suspension. That was part of his deal to agree to run Showa for Honda because he knew it would underperform. His ride is not up for grabs for 2014.

Checking the most recent news Bradl and Honda are already in talks for 2014 and both sides are quite chummy with each other. That seat isn't going anywhere.
