Condolences to family and friends of the young man.

Devastating.

Keeping the mom informed was above and beyond considering the shock everyone must have been under.

Visiting the fire station was a kind and thoughtful gesture; I never would have thought of doing that.

I'm sure it meant a lot to the first responders.

Great job by all who were there and tried to help out as best they could during this most tragic time.

RIP young rider.

:rip Condolences to all of Glenn's family and friends. Thank you to all the riders that stood by his side during this uneventful event, sorry you guys all had to go through this emotional roller coaster. GOD SPEED GLENN

This is such a sad event for all involved and impacted. There are no words that can reduce the pain. My good thoughts to all. And my thanks to this community for supporting each other.

This has torn my heart out today. I didn't know him, but it doesn't matter. I'm so sad for his family and feel so much sadness for a guy that will no longer experience joy, love, family, the pleasures of riding, and the comradery associated with it.

Fuck!

so sorry to hear about this. I might have met him on a group ride a couple months ago?

I was the rider immediately behind Glen and came upon the worst scene anyone of us as riders ever want to see. I am very saddened by what happened. Glen and I exchanged hellos and welcome to the group moments at the Starbucks before we headed out.

What strikes me through all of this though is not just the sadness of the event, but the love and camrederie of barf members for each other. I am a new resident here and finding barf (huge shoutout to SmfcJohn for the pointer) was the best thing that could happen to someone in my situation. Being in a place where you know almost no one can be daunting, but barfers have welcomed me and I know you're all there for me if ever needed as I will return the favour if I ever can. You guys actually remind me of the kindness and open welcome I took for granted in Canada.

Losing a young man like this has been a traumatic and shocking experience for all of us. I'll never forget this weekend. But I'll also never forget the weekend I made 50 new friends.

The accident was reported in the local news -

What a touching post.

My heart goes out to everyone directly and indirectly involved in this tragic loss.

RIP Glenn. :(

I met Glenn at the Weaverville Rally, really nice guy. He was new, but had no problems striking up conversions and mixing in. He was so excited about riding and shared that enthusiasm. We hung out for stories, food and drinks. He talked about his family that lived in the area and that he knew Weaverville.

Condolences to his family.

I was at a wedding this weekend when I heard this terrible news. I spoke at length with a rider in Glenn's group and he was pretty devastated. To stand by and watch a fellow rider pass, I can't even imagine the shock and heartache. I wasn't there but was very upset when I heard. I didn't know Glenn, though I did find a picture of him in my Weaverville photos, but he was a rider and we shared the same passion. If the family is reading this I wish you comfort in this difficult time and hope you know we all share your pain. I plan on attending the barf remembrance Thursday and hope to attend the family gathering Sunday as well. :rip :rose

Special thanks to Greg for keeping the family in the loop, I know that must have taken quite the toll emotionally <3

Here is Glenn at Weaverville :rose

Unfortunately I never got to meet you, but your absence at the rally was felt.

My heart and thoughts go out to your family, and everyone involved in the rescue efforts.

Thank you to all of you that put yourselves into this.

Sounds like we lost a standup young man. I feel for those affected, including those first on scene, but especially his family. I remember seeing him at the Redwood ride last month but didn't get a chance to talk to him He will surely be missed by many.

Greg- any idea if seeing bikes at his service would be welcome or if it would make things harder? I know it varies for different families.

I honestly have no idea, Rebeka. I'm planning to drive, but that's because I have no desire to back on a bike right now. I'm not certain how to or if to even ask the question. I have sent Katrina a link to this thread.
