Does Lorenzo Have A Career Left?

Even though its trading Lorenzo for L'orenzarco, the french man would be the least boring option for the HRC seat.

After the way KTM treated Oliveira, I'd love to see HRC poach him. I think that would be a very good pick. It is tough to game this out given 2021 prospects though.

I suspect Jorge was just incredibly relieved to have the last race over, and probably spent most of it thinking: "Please God, just let me finish this race. Just this one. Don't let this be the one."

Spot on

He made it, largely in one piece. That Zarco incident almost ended any reasonable predictions for the poll I placed. That could have been SOOOOO much worse had that bike hit him any higher and/or his feet been planted on the solid ground. I'm so glad he's okay but he's going to be double limping his way into 2020. :wow

I think Alex on the Repsol Honda would be a HUGE mistake for him. He's already being compared to his brother. Now put him on a difficult to master MotoGP bike on the same team and the pressure to perform will be overwhelming. I think the safer bet is Zarco.

Jorge got his championship in 2015....and it ended his career. I say good riddance. He was impressive, but fucking boring to watch. And a horrible personality.

his final comments made it clear, hes over it. everything he said was about just being glad to not have to train, thankful hes healthy, etc

Word is he has been offered a role with Yamaha as a test rider. He says he has something to announce. So I guess we will see. I figured he would do this though I thought he might take the first year off. Question I would have is if he would be offered any wildcards and if so would he actually do them.

I got $10 Sbux that he doesn't take the job. Though he might just to show Rossi he can go faster. I think that last crash put the fear of God into him.

If the money is right, i bet he'll take the job.

His input is really valuable at this point. He's been on 3 different factory bikes in 3 years. The last time Rossi won a race, he had Lorenzo's data to use. Not to mention his ability to be consistent as hell on the Yamaha. It would make testing parts much more efficient.

If Yam are smart, they are going to throw bags of money at Lorenzo to make him dismiss his quality of life after racing. I mean, Pedrosa is test riding and arguably, he's even more beat up than Lorenzo is.

Dare I say if Rossi retires and Vinales decides to leave after this year (which he has mentioned as a possibility) with JLo as a tester ( assuming he is riding the bike well, enjoying it, and feeling better physically) it could be a factory squad of JLo and Fabio for 2021. I know it sounds crazy but I could see it happening.

I would bet $10 Hobo Dollars that he's the European Test Rider for Yamaha.
He may never race again, but I bet he still loves riding motorcycles. Looking at Pedrobot he's been having a fine time at it and I bet it has influenced Borenzo to do the same.

He doesn't need the money, and there's something about a broken neck that is hard to deny.

What would you know about that E? :D

Being a test rider sounds like a pretty good gig to me to be honest.

Racing is the best feeling in the world, but falling down, getting hurt, the pressure to perform and the stress you put on yourself when you're not doing as well as you know you can is a lot.

Getting paid to test all the new goodies and a motogp bike sounds like a pretty damn good deal to me if i wanted to stop getting hurt and still ride.

Uz true dat! Somehow I don't see a proud guy like Lorenzo as a test rider. Pedrobot lives to ride. Lorenzo lived to win. When that went away....

If JL's head won't let him ride to the edge and give a true test to the machine than what good is he? I don't think he is ready.
