Does Lorenzo Have A Career Left?

Its Dethklok!
Jorge Lorenzo was a MotoGP god. Then he went to Ducati and things started to unravel for him. Albeit the Ducati is a hard beast to tame, riders have done it. I thought for sure it would come back this season by going to Honda but it's just gotten worse. Embarrassingly worse. Best finish this season has been an 11th. Is this due to injury? He has a 2 year contract with Honda but that can easily change. What's your insight on this?

I think the injury deal is real.

I think the bike not being his flavor is real.

I think the chance of him rebounding next year is real.

If he does not... I think the chance of him stepping away is real.
I doubt he would take anything except a factory ride from one of the big 4.

left ducati too early.i think he would go well on a suzuki.no future with honda-only one guy can ride that bike.

He'll come back. Ditched the '19 in favor of the '18 in past round and found something favorable. Figuring out the bike like he did with Ducati.

any non-Honda team would take Jorge over at least one of their current riders in 2021. as the only person to beat MM, his previous results are worth A LOT. they'd all take the risk of him not ever learning the bike. they'll all also assume he is able to learn their because they arent HRC. Jorge def has a few years left in his career if he wants them.

he might just crash and injure himself into retirement next year though.

I would really like to see Lorenzo on an improved Suzuki or back on a Yamaha.

He should have never left Yamaha. Not saying he’s done, but ....... he’s fast approaching

Lorenzo is the guy in MotoGP who was going to rule when Marquez suddenly happened.

I think he has maybe two years to prove himself capable of winning again. The upside has been that we don't have to listen to his endless bullshit excuses, nobody bothers to interview him.

He does not seem to be meshing with the Honda and that is costing him.

He can end up forcing himself into his own retirement due to injury so he needs to be careful.

He would be wise to take the rest of the year off to heal up so he is healthy for off season testing and next season.

I question how much Jorge's back injury is affecting his performance
1. he was f*d up - cracked vertebra arent a joke
2. that was a long time ago - since end of June
3. he now seems to be able to put in a "as fast as Taka" lap time in Q1 at some tracks - 0.3 behind Cal at Misano, 0.3 behind Taka in Thailand
4. he cant do those lap times for race distance or even in FP
5. he was 2nd best Honda in Thailand in 14th

id guess that riding through pain is less shitty for 1-2 laps. so I do think the injury is still bothering him some. but if he wasn't injured, id bet he'd only be matching Cal. that still leaves Jorge outside the top 10 at some tracks and barely fighting for the podium at others. not good.

I could be wrong, but I read that he went back to earlier settings, not a 2018 bike. If you found something that said he went back to a 2018 bike, I would like to read it.

I think he is done, been a jlo fan since race 1 Qatar in MotoGP.

Before mm arrived and in his rookie year in gp - he was win or crash out.

He's matured and realized he can't challenge mm anymore, big thing for me has to be what he's thinking, loosing to mm on yammy or ducs s ez to say well mm is on a Honda, swapping to said Honda and never getting the results he wanted/expected+injuries.... Time to hang it up

40 seconds behind Zarco on his first race on the Honda and 66 seconds behind the winner MM. JL was dead last more than 20 seconds slower than the second to last guy. Things don't look good at this point. Get out the rocking chair and send him home for the rest of the year because he is done.

If he is still slow in tests next year Honda should send him home on a Goldwing instead of embarrassing himself for another year.

Yup, right on point

I don't care for JLo, but there's no way he's washed up.

Dude can't, or doesn't want to, ride the Honda, plain and simple.

I'd still bet dollars to donuts that he could be competitive on a Yam/Duc/Zook.

Looking forward to see where he'll end up next year, highly doubtful it'll be with HRC.

I thought he had a two year deal.

They asked Marquez about Zarco in the press conference after the race. He declined to comment. Miller through out a little under cover jab. “He beat Jorge”. :laughing

There has to be more to the injuries than anyone is letting on. Nobody will be able to convince me he's done for lack of skill.
