Do you wear a watch?

I am in between that and this one, although very different style.

Forget the aesthetics and brands. If if is truly just between those two, just decide if you want to live with hand winding a watch everyday or not.

That Portofino you added. I like that one a lot more than the Spitfire. Much classier and what I think of when IWC is mentioned. But again. You want to hand wind the Omega or just wear the IWC and only fuss with date every month or two?

Wow I honestly didn't even realize the Omega is hand wound, that is a great call. I really like the Porotofino too but I wonder if it is too classy to daily?

I'd love to own a Speedy but I find manual wind watches with no quick date set annoying as F. Since it doesn't have a date I think it's fine.

If you want the Speedmaster but want an automatic maybe look at this one.

The Portofino with the brown leather strap and the nice clean bezel definitely screams more like a dressy kind of watch. But you could still daily it.

I really like the Portofino as well.

What clothes do you wear daily for work? If you're wearing dress shirts and ties it could definitely be a daily.

In response to the thread title...
Yeah, I wore one for an hour or so today. Then I went riding. Hero dirt, and all.

I agree, but it is certainly on the dressy side. I do love that speedy but it doesn't feel like a radical departure from what I currently daily.

Honestly I'm wfh forever lol. But I tend to wear nicer shoes/boots, jeans and a casual button down

I’m pretty convinced I’m doing the Blue Snowflake Grand Seiko in the future. That will be my made in Japan watch. But I’m thinking I want to get a German made watch in the meantime. Probably a Junghans or a Nomos.

I think my endgame here is a watches of the world collection. And I’ll try to have a watch from every country that actually makes watches. But the catch is that is has to be all made in that country. Surprisingly enough, a US made watch is practically nonexistent except for the Weiss. Anyone know of any others?

That’s a good link. Of course Weiss is there. Shed some light on a couple others I’d never heard about who actually make everything here. Other ones like Shinola who simply just finish the product here but source the guts elsewhere, those I knew about. Was kinda hoping to stay all US made, but such little choices.

However that list turned me on to this one...

So yeah, Detroit is doing the same as Shinola. At least they’re using decent Swiss ETA movements. But that one speaks to me since my Grandpa was a B24 Liberator pilot.

Plus that's a sweet looking watch! :thumbup

SO the Omega I got my friend needs a full service. Bah. I'm not trusting the company I got it from again.

At least the guys I deal with provide a 2 year warranty on their work.
