Whatever that means
Got a couple recent additions to my wrist collection.

Picked up a tool watch while I'm doing demo around the house and projects so if anything happens to it I wont cry. Yes, another Orient but the value on these watches really can't be beat. For a mere $150 the Ray II provides a sturdy rotating bezel, day/ date, in house movement, 200M, automatic, screw down crown with guard and very legible lume.

Also I ordered this a while back but it arrived fairly recently.
Once upon a time(no pun intended) The military was testing out using the Bulova prototype A-15 to be a issued time piece for the Airforce because there were complaints about the Type-11 being hard to determine elapsed time and also complaints of legibility.
It has dual rotating inner bezel which are super cool for the following reasons:
1. They just fucking are
2. The 1-12 can be used as GMT function
3. The 5-55 can be used to measure minute duration
4. Using them both for time duration can also give you hour plus minute time duration!
5. Because stone cold said so

Anywho. It never got pushed into adoption so it remained a prototype until the suits ad Bulova were looking for some new way to make money and brought it out of retirement. Which works for me cause I think it's neato!

Recedite, plebes!
Recently got this Nomos Ahoi Neomatik Atlantic 561.
Very clean and subtle at 36.3mm and 20ATM. No, it won't be going in the water.

Judging by the nautical greeting in the name these are made to symbolize the north of Germany where people are more on boat and sailboats and get splashed by ocean water all the time. Hence useful water resistance @20ATM.

Yep, looks very cool, manual with a quite beautiful movement.
(speaking of inflation it's not like the prices of Nomos haven't increased ... . . . oh well.)

Busy Little Shop

Man behaving bikely...
I was 12 yo 1960 wearing my first and last watch... I was just as
happy to tentatively judge the time of day by the sun... however in
the saddle time was important I always wanted to know to the minute
the time it took to cover a stretch of the perverted highway... so
most of my bikes were equipped with custom clocks...

Me and Jack at our home in Richmond... Jack was a wild Jack rabbit I caught
while cultivating our walnut orchard Clear Lake...

VF500F Belt-0-Ceptor... My custom clock caused grief for my Honda
dealer because so many owners showed up at the parts counter wanting
the Honda cover with the digital clock...

RC45... white numbers are a trick little 3 into 1 gauge... Time Temp Volts...

Warning: Do Not Engage
The "cheap" Omega I got my friend needed a full service from my watchmaker to the tune of $450 which includes 2 year warranty. I didn't tell her I'm just rolling it into the cost. At least it should be good for a few years now. Lesson learned.

She's been sporting my 29 year old Tag bar mitzvah watch while I get the Omega serviced and her Invicta watch battery changed.
