Good thing I don't care anymore or anything.
Ummmmmm... did KTM flip the bill for the medical staff this year and we are seeing the fruits of their investment with TWO Honda riders out for concussion protocols? Did Sunderland get checked out? This smells fishy to me.
what was Mr Brabec angry about in the clip re: KTM?
folks on ADV still mad about “clicker gate” when Mr Brabec’s front suspension adjustments seemed to have been messed with in the bivouac in years gone by.
man, would be so awesome to see him win this thing after his crazy first week. hope the navigation gods are with him today. :angel
Mattias Walkner (and others?) was making some noise about JBB passing the fuel stop intentionally to lead tracks for RB to follow. He was insinuating that it was a dirty tactic, which clearly it wasn't. MW has publicly apologized to Honda is my understanding. Two weeks in and everyone is on edge I suspect. And folks from Hesperia dont take shit from nobody, no how!
Are you suggesting doctors working for KTM pulled Honda riders and let others continue to benefit KTM? Let me know if you need to borrow some tinfoil for your hat!
JBB missed a refueling point because he was dingy and shouldn't have been riding. Wouldn't the KTM factory doctors have pulled him two days ago, not after he ran out of fuel in the middle of a stage two days later? He shouldn't have been on the bike. He was clearly a danger to himself and others if he didn't know where he was or have the mental capacity to understand his navigation equipment. It sucks for JBB any way you slice it.
In my post above I'm not saying that any concussion should put you out of the race. I'm suggesting they need a better protocol and I'll let them figure that out. We have the technology. Maybe it involves some virtual navigation at the bivi, to show you still have all your marbles in the bag. IDK
Hesperia, forever! :thumbup
following Mr JBB’s tracks would be gold, about 1/2 the time ... :laughing
imagine they are all exhausted.
:...I used to club race back east in a for profit club, where if we crashed during a race and could pick the bike up and it was still rideable, we were allowed to rejoin the race!...
AAMRR FOREVER! R.I.P., old Loudon.
Joking aside, that is the case in pretty much any pro racing organization.
I love a good hardman (or hardwoman) but it's been tough to watch guys bash their brains in this year's "Dakar". Hopefully some of the protocols we see in other sports will spill over and helmet technology will continue to improve safety. Cuz there is no slowing racers down. It's a frickin' race.
:thumbup:toothless
yes, it's fascinating to think about, the concussion angle, or racers continuing with broken bones (Mr Price for example, in years gone by).

moved here and the non-profit AFM was like, forget that. your handlebar touches the ground your race is OVER. the AFM cornerworkers used to delight in pulling our teck inspection stickers after we tipped over ... they would decorate their hats with the pulled stickers over the course of their day.
sure they had a bad experience where some idiot like me picked their bike up after a crash, and it was leaking oil or something after they rejoined ...
have to say, like the KTM/MD concussed Honda riders anti-blue collar guy conspiracy theme, myself ...

And Skyler F'ing Howes! If he doesn't get a factory ride next year, I'll never eat French Cheese again. :teeth
Good little watch on how much it cost Skler to get to Dakar this year and what little he has left (no car or even motorcycle.)
