Cost to fix roads damaged by storm so far: $600 million

tastes like burning
sounds like a good time for the federal government to deny funds to California for bullshit arbitrary reasons.:thumbup

Oh wait, not Pol... :twofinger

Maybe we can start to realize the old saying 'an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.' is kind of true here.

There are some pot holes out there that are crazy. Let alone all the land slides, roadway collapses etc. I have been driving like I am riding looking for shit constantly.

If you want to get political Connor CA politicians have been diverting funds for decades that were meant for road repairs.... and yes the Jer is raising the gas tax again, but not for road repairs as they were meant to be.

CA sucks ass in so many ways and is kick ass in so many others.

20 + years back ca had the best roads on this planet.

then the demigods saw a cash cow in the road tax fund. so they put it into the general fund and spent the same dollar three ways. none of was to keep the roads in correct condtion.
if they had done there job, the fiesaco of the communist chinese built concreat bay bridge could have been built without bonds for funding.

While I do agree that the condition of the roads sucked before the storms, many roads in this area were fixed with your taxes after 2008 with stimulus spending. Its easy to forget about the potholes that were fixed.

Asphalt constantly needs money just like your gas tank.

What's more important, functioning roads and infrastructure or more missiles rusting in a silo underground in Montana? There's only so much money to go around.

Not as fast as I look.
That is just two months. Please read the following and realize that our elected officials have claimed a balanced budget. It's only balanced if you let everything go to shit and don't pay to fix things. I can hardly wait till we tax ourselves into oblivion just to get EVEN. Buy a Tesla - now. They probably won't be taxed to fix the roads that they use.
Aside from emergency road repairs from storms, Gov. Jerry Brown’s proposed budget identifies a $6 billion annual backlog of maintenance and repairs for California’s roads, highways and bridges. Lawmakers and the governor have not been able to agree on how to pay for the repairs.

It's been crazy watching the roads literally crumbling away. I'd honestly rather drive on cobblestones.

I don't think would man. I drove over a river rocked dirt road every day to get to my house in New Mexico. Roads here are no where near that bad.

Classic Jerry. Wouldn't let us buy new cars or bikes when he got into office, instead we just continually repaired our tired fleet at an exponentially increasing cost just to save the appearance of buying new vehicles

Kick the can down the road. Stop repairing roads and the budget probably looks pretty good
