any muscle car owners in here?

Ratters

Is it summer yet?
I really like the rims/tires on that thing, way better than when people stuff way oversized rims on a car so it looks like a hotwheel.

Put on an exhaust system on it and blacked out some shit.. gangster as my daughter says.. :laughing

Gas is about the same as my F150.. so I ignore that part..:p

You don't remember 1987 when the Buick Grand National turbo destroyed every '60-'70s muscle car in existence at the drag strip? That means "real" muscle cars have been slow for at least 25 years. :laughing

You guys have different insurance or normal state farm type? My mustang is non op but I think I'm gonna get it running. I was looming into Haggerty and other classic car insurance companies.

They beat every performance American car in 86-87. GM killed it because they were faster than their flagship sports car the Corvette. That being said, a good running T-type would run 13.80's because they were lighter than the Grand Nationals but, no they were not faster than every 60-70's muscle car.

Side note...4.11 gears and legit detroit locker in a 8" on my 70 mav....

3600rpm at 62mph!

I am working on getting the 5 speed in now!

Cant floor it in first or top of second, breaks traction on both wheels and wheel hops like a MF and the driveshaft hits the tunnel....

Never ending project.

The grand nationals pretty much were. Most of those 60's and 70's muscle cars were pretty slow from the factory.

MrIncredible:

I got the parts at the rear end shops in livermore, ca

The locker for an 8" was 700-ish and the gears were almost 200 with bearing kit.

tons of money in a ford 8" but it is stronger than a 8.8" and lighter than a 9"

This does not include the Yenko cars/Hemi Darts ect ect. Also please remember the fact of tire and suspension tech of the 80's was far superior to the 60/70's cars.

So As I said and as I say as a former T-type owner. No, they are not.

I've finally joined the "owner" club- Here is my project I just purchased last weekend. Got her running already- but terrible misfire/backfire when driving. =\

1970 Dodge Dart with a mildly built 340.
