I have a '70 dodge challenger that has been in my family since new. I plan on starting the rebuild on it when finances straighten out hopefully next year. I want to yank the original 318 and put in a newer Hemi engine. Would love to have FI in it.

Back in the day I had a '73 Dodge Challenger that we pulled the 318 out of and put in a tricked out 340. That car was fast. Raced a few people even a Porsche 911 and smoked that fool down Monterey Highway between Bernal and Cochrane. Those were the good old days. A flat stretch of two lane road and someone to race with was heaven. Although now that I am older I cringe when I think about what I did when I was younger.

Nice! I wish I could afford a challenger, roadrunner, coronet or superbee... :(

Baby steps! This dart will do!

I'd rather have that dart. I love those things.

Tho a nice 69 Challenger to match my 09 Challenger would be nice too.....

I believe the first Challenger was a 70. That thing had nice lines, another similar style that I liked was the Plymouth Satellite .

Is it summer yet?
Love the Dart, much better size than a Charger.

Here's my project:
The day I sold it 30 years ago:

When I bought it back earlier this year:

All it needs is a new motor, suspension, electrical, brakes, rims, tires, and copious amounts of body work. :teeth

Hey, for those with 60's cars, the DMV is offering black plates again, for the nominal sum of fifty bucks. I was hoping they were going to do blue plates, but not enough people want them.

Wow. Did the previous owner drive it much? Looks like the same tires haha.

He drove it the day I sold it to him. Immediately started taking the car apart, painted it, rebuilt the motor, hurt himself, left for college, never touched it again, just moved it from place to place. So yes, same tires. :D

Subbing so that when I finally get my '70 Challenger looking less rough I can post some pics. Still crying over selling my '73 Challenger 17 years ago.........

Well here's an update to my Dart, it's not done yet, but getting there... LOL Some will hate it, some wont.

I went with:
LS1/4L60e LS6 intake, milled .030 243 heads (changed to 317 heads when I got turbo)
Turbo: Borg Warner S475
Nitrous: Nitrous Express 10lb bottle with a Harris Speedworks Throttle Plate
Tune: 423 rwhp (all motor) 530 rwhp (nitrous)

I think you will burn in hell for putting that LS1 in there but I understand that it is easier that way sometimes.

Doesn't really care
I don't like LS motors but, I like them better than that Mopar junk, kudos to you for pissing everyone off, I like it.

Not just for the 60s cars, I have one on my 99 suburban. My 1970 Chevy Truck already has the original black plates. I see a lot of people buying the black plates for newer cars. I think you may be right about the blue plates though, not sure too many people want the blue plates. My 74 Porsche has the original blue plates, and I don't even want them on my car. :laughing

I'm waiting for the black plates to become available for bikes. I've got a candy red and black bike with tons of black contrast cut accessories, that white plate sticks out like a sore thumb.

Not a "muscle car", but I have a few classics, one is my 1970 Chevy "bike hauler"

Gorgeous SWB! One of my dream trucks.
Had a '70 step side "C10" 4x4 with what I was told was a blueprinted 350.
That thing could out-mud just about anything.
