Berto, Can you add the Members meeting to the schedule at 7pm in the Drivers Lounge. I think we will get more participation if we can have it on the schedule so those racers not on BARF can be prepared to attend.

Thanks

Berto, any chance you/Barb can announce this at the riders meeting?

Berto mentioned it may be a issue because according to the ByLaws there needs to be 14 days notice of a members meeting. So I was going to print this flyer and have it at registration and also walk the pits on Saturday as I am only racing Sunday :thumbup

Berto needs to read the by-laws and so do you guys: http://afmracing.org/about-the-afm/by-laws

Article VI of the North Chapter refers to 14 days notice for board meetings, which has nothing to do with the membership meeting you're proposing, especially since there can't be any motions or voting for anything. Years ago we referred to these types of informal meetings as "town hall meetings" and it was a chance for us old AFM board members to listen to the membership's feedback and input on various topics. I don't recall any board member getting attacked, I actually thought they were quite productive and I'm honestly surprised and disappointed to hear that current AFM board members aren't taking advantage of this opportunity to interact with AFM members. I might still drag at least one of the board members to your meeting... kicking and screaming if needed! :teeth

Alex, I'll be expecting you to piggyback me to the meeting, then... :x

Alan, as Eric said, thank you for putting forth the effort. It would be great for any of the members who are interested in becoming more involved to help volunteer on some of the projects that would help the Club grow and move forward... so many projects, not enough hands...

Looking forward to hearing some good ideas for expanding membership, and getting members more involved! :thumbup

Alex, I'll be there too pending not getting caught up in something relative to the uniqueness of this weekend. This particular weekend is a tough one with a tight schedule and a crowded paddock and lots of board members will be pretty busy. There really is not a ton of free time, nor free space. We were lucky to talk Sonoma into letting us use the lounge for this meeting.

Right on, punkin'... :applause
You're the club president, at least make an appearance even if you can't stay for the whole meeting (and don't be fuxxing late!! :laughing ) but if these guys are taking the initiative, you need to at least show up and acknowledge their effort. My suggestion is that you send out an email blast to the rest of the board and encourage them to show up as well, it's this kind of stuff that will get the AFM board a lot closer to the membership and source more volunteers for projects.

It's about the worst weekend to have a member meeting…considering all the ancillary stimuli and things that'll be needed. None the less, yeah I'll show up. That should come as no surprise. Nothing in the AFM is what it seems it is...
