Alan, thank you for pulling the meeting together, and I really appreciate that it didn't become a "Board members suck/Git a rope!" bitchfest... there was a lot of really constructive dialogue, and I look forward to the next meeting at T-Hill.

I'm not a fan of "forcing" anything…I am a fan of encouraging experts to help a clubman guy out, if they can. The TD providers can help a bunch by pairing up existing racers with their NRS graduates. PTT does a good job of this as we can see in the pits. Z2 and Keigwins are good, but with a different approach. I'll see if I can bug Shawn/ Dave about something here…can someone bug Lance?

Maybe it is something that would be better handled by the club? Start a sign up list for racers who would be willing to help a novice, then pair a novice to a racer. I know that really helped me in my first season :thumbup Then monitor it, easily falls under the current mentor program.

I dont like "forced" either, that is why is was in " " mark's :) Required?

I agree on the not forcing n00blettes to do a mentoring program... but I think it would be nice to have a sign-up list of veteran racers who would be willing to host a n00bie in their pits for a race weekend... I would think that would be a pretty easy thing to set up and maintain, and I would tentatively be willing to oversee/monitor/arrange it, unless that's something that would be better handled by Dan Sewell?

Anyways, glad to see some people there that care so much about our Club... it really is the best EVAR!! :love

And Alan, you never came by and got your scones, so I gave them to Steve over at Dunlop, who gave me some awesome take-offs... :banana
So... thanks! :teeth :laughing

A lot of us do take new racers under our wing and help them not only get lines sorted out, but their racedays. It's not high visibility, but out there. Heck, Kirk Korenko and I talked to soon to be racers in the stands during the races, kindastuff.
