Not as fast as I look.
It was Quirk that pulled all the speed guidelines? And now it's basically codified (thanks Cyclesuzy) to do it with "someone" providing details, later. Wow. Just wow. And I always bitch about lax leftie politicians. Well, I will not be so quick to judge, anymore. :p
:laughing Awesome.

I'll never forget having coffee with a very well informed man. It was a few years back at Weavers in San Rafael. We talked about dirtbikes, trails, and lane sharing.

The man's name was Marc Levine and he is now my assemblyman. :party :hail

I hope that Marc continues his career in politics, the man sits down and has codffe with perfect strangers and waits to the end to ask if we know who our assemblyman is.

Nope. OAL (Office of Administrative Law) basically caused the CHP to pull the guidelines themselves. Not forced, but precipitated it, based on a citizen complaint about underground regulations.

What will the updated bill mean for filtering/sharing on single lane roads?

The bill itself, as currently written, says nothing about sharing on single lane (each direction) roads.

Sorry no cite just years working with the legislature. If there isn't a law making something illegal then it doesn't to my mind necessarily make it legal. It's just not illegal. It's a grey area open to interpretation which is what we kinda had with regard to lane sharing.

My assemblyman Jim Gallagher voted against it in the Assembly. I wrote my senator Jim Nielsen. These guys are farmers and hillbillies. They hate us moto peeps, but i wrote anyway.

I've heard that before, but actually consulted with a lawyer friend about this (admittedly not a traffic guy, but experienced all the way up to the Supreme Court) back in the SB 350 days—he told me, in simple terms, not prohibited = legal.

One can go deep into semantics on "defined as legal" versus "legal because it's not prohibited," but legal and illegal are binary. Stuff is legal, or its not. I'm going to stick with "things that aren't illegal are legal" until someone shows me case law or some example. :teeth

End of my original post where it says sign HERE.

Quirk pulled the bill.

All speed references removed from this bill.

Single lane sharing is not explicitly made legal.
Typically it has not been. I was scolded a year ago and given a ticket for something else (which I beat thanks to Scotty Storey).

Riddle me this.
Is there an agreement with CHP that once this is passed, they're basically going to bring the old guidelines back?
