2021 New Bikes and Updates

I just figured out what new bike I want.

They don’t make it. :(

I saw that article and now I dreaming of a Multileggera.

Take that and back it down to 195hp and throw it in a very street oriented Multi platform... with a G-Damn 17” front and I bet there would be some OG’s like me waiting in line to order.

Not at 100k of course but I would drop something short of 50 if it was bad ass.
I am getting close to last bike time and stuffing in something like that would be worth working another year.

Hope emerges!!!!

Countdown until someone swaps a Gixxer thousand motor into the Busa because it's both lighter and more powerful.

A bit disappointed there is no factory turbo 'Busa option which makes it difficult to continue the traditional BARF recommendation for new riders.

That is like comparing a quarterback to an offensive lineman. If you time span the busa years to the same ones for the 911.... I get it. :thumbup

Meaning..I get the “they” look similar still. :teeth

I think 911 tech kicks ass on the Busa though.

They both stick to a signature look, style, and shape...

But the 911 evolved underneath. Each generation is an entirely different car. Each generation of the Busa is the same bike with different body, less power (this year), different instruments.

.... and the extended swing arm/ 300 series rear tire. Guess Suzuki doesn’t understand their target customers. We:squid

I like it though.

You may be making this more complicated than it should be, especially comparing cars to bikes.

When you see a 911, any year, you know what it is when you see it, right?

When you see a Hayabusa, you know what it is when you see it.

That's all the presenter was saying, and I agree with that statement.

Yeah, I get it.

But still :p When all they do is massage the shape of the body, of course you’ll be able to see the connection between the years. It’s more impressive of Porsche to completely redesign the car many times and still keep the visual cues. It’s still ugly...they could have fixed that!

Oh and I think the s1000rr is ugly too especially the first generation like my 2010. I’m a firm believer that horsepower can offset ugly: S1000rr, GTR, that 2300cc Triumph, the Yamaha V-Max....

I’m just showing my dislike of the Busa. I’ve called the thing the ‘Eye-Abuser’ from the very beginning. The first ‘generation’ was groundbreaking but since then they’ve been putting lipstick on a pig. They had an opportunity to make a big change, and they missed it.

It's got a bunch of new electronic farkles, Brembos, cruise control, and even heated grips, and not nearly as ugly as Gen 2. :dunno

Suzuki has sold what, 180,000 busas since 1999, 911's since 1964 are at about a million and a half.... I'll bet there's more profit in 911's. :laughing

The Hayabusa is the last of a questionable category. Love it or hate it, they created a distinctive bike.

Over the years at the Superbike School, I don’t recall many Hayabusas. In fact, I remember more Harley baggers, really.

The one that stood out was a guy in Rio de Janeiro at the Nelson Piquet circuit. Prior to that, I’d never seen anyone corner a ‘busa particularly fast. At the end of four days of schools, that rider was going impressively considering the weight and ground clearance. And of course, nobody had more fun on the long back straight than he did. As the brakes on those bikes were nothing to write home about, he probably saw God every time turn 6 came up.

Lighter? Sure. But definitely not more powerful. The peak power number being higher doesn’t mean a more powerful engine. The Hayabusa likely has significantly more power than the GSXR1K everywhere except for the last few hundred RPM and will feel way more powerful.

Area under the curve definitely matters.
