And you have to have a key fob sticking out of the ignition full time.
I recently drove a merecedes benz like that and it pissed me off. Kinda negates part of the point of having keyless in the first place.. :rolleyes

It's not. I've owned them both. The internet seems to think mid engine magically means better car, but it doesn't. There's more to it than that and the 911 is still the better car. It's just overpriced, like everything Porsche.
Cruise is standard but if you want keyless entry, you know the thing that comes standard on most economy cars, you have to pay extra. And you have to have a key fob sticking out of the ignition full time.
I test drove a 981 and found it boring but it was on street, not on track. Supposedly it's better balanced than the 911 on track. I ended up with something more engaging instead.
If I were to get a 911, I would rather get an older 964 for example.
How cool, talks of a hybrid awd Corvette!

I read that and keep going "more weight more weight more weight."
These cars put down hero laptimes for magazine tests but what they don't tell you is the high cost of consumables if you're seriously tracking the car. Weight sucks. Overheats tires, chews through brake pads and rotors, heats up the suspensions and bushings which changes the handling of the car quickly.

It's definitely not "huge". Tiny actually.Well you can't just say "it's huge" without showing us....what else did you get?

Why is the nsx valve check so expensive?
The key word is the one I bolded, because it's just not. Here's a great video from a few years back showing a base, no option 911 beating an S model 981 around a short track that should actually suit the 981. Look at how much more composed the 911 is on turn entry and mid corner.

There's just more to the recipe than simply throwing the engine between the axles. The 911 is an incredibly refined design that just works. Sure a mid engined 911 is better than a rear engine one, but a Cayman isn't. It's a great car, but the 911 is simply better if your goal is to haul ass down a mountain road. The 981 is more go karty and lively, so I think people think it handles better, but the 911 is going down the road faster.
I’ll wait till the 2nd gen. Hopefully by then they’ll have the 2nd engine option out.
If I recall correctly this version, as fast as it is at < 3.0 0-60, is only the start. 2nd engine option will be a twin turbo V8, 3rd will be a hybrid on top of that to push 1,000 hp. And still be able to cruise in electric-only mode.
It’s obvious as can be what the future holds. Where the “frunk” is now will be the front electric motors. That really tall center tunnel that doesn’t need to house a propeller shaft or exhaust anymore will be where the battery goes. There’s plenty of room in the engine compartment to make room for the taller Blackwing with the turbos in the V.

Early on in the development of the NSX, they had a helluva time getting the hybrid car to turn faster laps than a car with just RWD and no electrics. Part of that is due to the minimal “boost” from the electrics. The other hybrid supercars get around 200hp or so from the addition of the electric motor(s). The NSX gets 73. For whatever sciencey math equation, the sum of the motors output does not equal total system power. Whatever. The other part of the reason it had trouble outlapping the stopped car is because of the weight.
NSX has a curb weight of just about 3900lbs. It’s built the same way (space frame, longitudinal mid engine, etc) as the new C8. You know damn well that Corvette is not going to have a small battery and small electric motors. They’ll need to go big to get to close to 1000hp. So heavier battery and motors. Even with carbon fiber body panels everywhere (which is not a super huge weight savings over fiberglass), we’re more than likely looking at a 2+ ton ZR1 here. Ouch. Those poor tires.

Very nice. I still entertain swapping my car for a Exige.
Since you were a military pilot, you are used to super cramped quarters. Last time I tried to sit in an Elsie....well, I tried.
