I think how quickly HRC gets up to speed will show how serious they are. IMO, this actually new bike, a great rider, and the full might of HRC would put them on the podium very early in the season. I suspect we'll know by round 3.

Other WSBK notes:

- All three classes in the WSBK championship (Superbike, Supersport and SSP300) will race on slicks in 2020.

- Team Pedercini Kawasaki had previously announced that Jordi Torres would continue with the team in 2020 and Lorenzo Savadori would return to the WSBK grid as a second rider on the team. Pedercini is not present at the Jerez test and is shown on the official WSBK entry (PDF) list with just a single entry and the rider listed as TBA. It would be real bummer to have Torres missing from the paddock. He's one of the most likeable racers in any World Championship, a hard charger and I always look forward to his WFO gesture on the grid. Hope everything works out for Torres, Savadori and the Pedercini team.

Not your typical team presentation photo from the GMT94 Yamaha Supersport team. French riders Cluzel and Perolari hamming it up.

This upcoming SBK races should be very very interesting to watch. BMW, Ducati, Honda, Yamaha ... all in full steam mode to dethrone the current world champion !!!

... Not sure which team I'd bet my money on !

Not much to report from Day 2 at Jerez. More rain in the morning and later afternoon limited track time. Rea went out for a handful of laps and turned in the fastest time.

Most teams will travel to Portimao for the next official test. KRT has some kind of photo or video shoot planned at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya so they will spin a few laps there before the whole circus travels to Phillip Island next month.

Interesting placement of the swingarm pivot. I'd love to learn the reason why its so close to the edge of the frame. I'm sure it has everything to do with flex...

that and fitting a longer swingarm within a certain wheelbase.

longer swingarms seem to be a trend has HP has increased. too much wheelbase can impart too much stability and the engine won't get much shorter and probably shouldnt be moved forward. so this is the result.

Close to the edge is DC designers choice... to engineer flex at this junction you must alter or remove the braces that support the pivot... like Yamaha did to Rossi's M1...

Top six fastest lap from the second and final day of the Portimao test. KRT did not attend Portimao so no lap times from Rea or Lowes. Honda has a private test scheduled at Losail in the coming weeks.

Next official test is at Phillip Island the weekend before Round 1.
