Are spending too much time hating on GP and MM? Time to give WSBK another try. Sure Rea is still the guy to beat but the Ducati, Yamaha and BMW teams could make it a lot harder for JR65. And there is always Honda for comic relief.

2020 Teams/Riders so far:

KRT Factory Kawasaki
Johnny Rea
Alex Lowes

Puccetti Kawasaki
Xavi Forés
tba

Pedercini Kawasaki
Sandro Cortese

Aruba.it Factory Ducati
Chaz Davies
Scott Reddign

Barni Ducati
Leon Camier

Team GoEleven Ducati
Michael Ruben Rinaldi

Motocorsa Racing Ducati
Leandro Mercado

Pata Yamaha Factory team
Michael van der Mark
Toprak Razgatlioglu

GRT Yamaha
Garrett Gerloff - USA 'merica!
Federico Caricasulo

Ten Kate Yamaha
Loris Baz
tba possible 2nd rider

Factory BMW
Tom Sykes
Eugene Laverty

HRC Honda (new team and bike that were supposed to get excited about for real this time)
Alvaro Bautista

Announced today that Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya will be on the 2020 WSBK schedule for the weekend of September 18-20.

There are rumors about whether Laguna or any USA race will be on the schedule. I'd be surprised if there is no USA round with Gerloff racing so Laguna will probably be a late addition.

Barni Ducati
Leon Haslam
???

I thought I read somewhere that Haslam himself said he'd still be with Kawasaki ?

Anyhow, 2020 WSBK season should be a great season with all the teams gearing up to beat the reigning champion.

I screwed that up. Its supposed to be Leon Camier at Barni Ducati which has been confirmed. Best bike he's been on in years. Thanks for catching the error.

Internet speculation says Haslam will be teamed with Bautista on the new HRC Honda team and brand new CBR.

Honda finally built a new CBR, a real all-new SBK. it'll be interesting to see how quickly they can challenge for the podium. HRC could prob win the first race if they spend enough $$.

Currently, the only fly away races next year will be AU, AR, and Q.... No US, TH. :(

Might as well rename it EuroSBK at this rate

I bet WeatherTech is playing hardball just like they did last year. IIRC, the round was finalized in late Dec 2018. so theres still time.

plus, Laguna was one of the more attended WSBK rounds. weird, aint it.

I'd be very surprised if there is no U.S. round in a year when we have an American on a good team in the top class. Yamaha U.S. is rumored to be part of the funding package that allowed Gerloff to join GRT Yamaha.

I'm guessing one or more of the U.S. distributors for the Japanese brands will help sponsor a U.S. round for WSBK. I hope its Laguna. MotoAmerica has July 10-12 at Laguna on their provisional 2020 schedule.

I really hope this is like last year where it looked like they weren't coming and then suddenly Laguna was added back on.
