All I can really say is :ride :thumbup right now. Lots of reading to do!

Awesome compilation Bud, I'm sure I'm not the only one who's riding history and even life would be dramatically different if not for BARF and the connections made through it.

Thanks and thanks for providing Race reports. Those have slowed and I want to get more next year. Super glad to have you onboard!!

Thanks for putting all of that together. Reading through it got me out of whatever it was my wife wanted me to do this afternoon. :laughing

What's the connection if any between BARF, or any of its predecessors, and the prehistoric usenet group ba.motorcycles? The first mention of BARF on ba.motorcycles was in 2002.

I definitely remember seeing BARF regulars like Scott R. Nelson on ba.motorcycles in the 90s.

While not much of a joiner, I first logged on to teh BARF in December 2003.

Aside from the original Bay Bridge Barfer get-togethers most months, I've only been to a few BARF gatherings IRL.

But I really appreciate the hard work of the many people who make this such a great community and resource. So, thank you to budman and everyone else who has contributed their time, effort, money, heart and soul to make this such an amazing place.

To all of you, I give this heartfelt salute

Nice ... in '03 you spelled the ...teh. Well played. :thumbup

In '17 You can join other barf "things". Give it a go!

Too much lean angle...
Have to include fr0ng I saw him on a flight to COTA with Ducky Fresh and crew just a couple years ago, :cool

fr0ng's thread got linked on the offtopic.com forum I would troll during high school in the Midwest. The riding sucked in Ohio. I'm sure I had already looked through BARF's classifieds before, but once I saw the ride reports and community I decided to move out here :thumbup

Damn, to think that in 2001, I was only seven years old...

Making me feel like a whippersnapper... :teeth

I wish I lived in America and spoke English back then, I could've been the youngest-ever BARF member! :afm199

Can I be....frank?
I first heard of barf in 2002 on the AFM racing mailing list...racers were like "omg look at these vomit-named street squids and their Bux meets." :laughing

Sort of an unnecessary divisive feeling back then in 2002ish that thankfully merged into harmony. :thumbup

Can't imagine how long it took to assemble this history thread Budman, well done sir!

I remember many great conversations with Steve. Usually about Porsches or bike suspension tuning. Most memorable was giving him shit about that stupid center stand on his ZZR600...... that finally bit him only a few weeks after our conversation. :afm199

Many of those original members got hooked on the track.... and I credit Barf for a lot of that. Which was good as I remember a lot of those group rides on Mines and Hamilton exceeding track pace (and all the crashes.... myself included). :gsxrgrl Heck, I even tried my hand at a few races in the old CCS series because of members. Met lots of good folks those years.

After a nearly 10 year hiatus from dirtbikes, Barf was instrumental in hooking me up with folks to ride with. When my regular Baja crew drifted away from dirtbikes for other life commitments, it was Barf again that was key in putting folks together again.

Budman, a huge and sincere than you for all you do in keeping this forum going. It truly is different from anything else online in a good way. I sure I am not alone in saying this, but Barf has enriched mine and many others motorcycle lifestyle!

Thanks Budman!

Well, I appreciate getting a shout out for my old race report, a good trip down memory lane.

Couldn't have picked one of my build threads, though? :laughing

Awesome Job BudMan!

I can still remember the days of being part of the MIRC board with Mike Solis aka MrCrash before joining in and BARF'ing around.

God you're cool Bud and so is what you and Cole created. This place is my home online and thanks so much for that and a nice, well mannered dysfunctional BARF family.
