Wow, this thread brings back memories, it's been a long time! Thanks to Budman and Steveco for creating and keeping such a great community alive! BARF was really helpful when I started riding and I keep coming back every day.

Oh, and where did the dump trophy end up? :teeth

Excellent stuff, Dennis! :applause

I'm a relative newcomer, having only been here 12 years and mostly sticking to the dirty stuff here, but it's been really fun to revisit some of the stuff I read so many years ago! Eric is now checking some of this stuff out and that's HUGE as he is not a forum kind of guy. Not at all! So huge thanks for that, too!

Looking forward to the next 15 years! :party

Good call Connie. Added!!

Sweet!!! :banana

Did I ever tell you about the first date I had with a guy, who was a non-BARFer... and he said something silly, and my response was an automatic "get off the fucking sidewalk!"
Yeah... try explaining THAT one... :laughing

Thanks for starting this Bman I still have my Ride For Life patch but the shirt gave up several years back :teeth My first big BARF event met a lot of riders that day and have met and unfortunatly lost a few good friends along the way.

Not as fast as I look.
You can find it in the link in post number 2.
I salute the SGT AT ARMS :nchantr

Jeezbuz, Bud, this place mostly kept you out of trouble, all this time. That is almost like a miracle. And you have done so much more for your riding community.

It's been my online home since I followed KHill, afm199, and TrackHo over here.

Thanks, mang.

Thank you Bud and everyone for making work hours, I mean, hours of entertainment.

I can attest to the effectiveness of Doc Wong rides.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane, Dennis.

Nearly everyone I know in the Bay Area I met because of barf.

Some of them are still friends, in spite of me.

Right on Dave. Check out the Lagunitas collage from 2011 for your smiling mug.

I am continuing to update and add both historical threads and more graphics.

This has been an amazing adventure and reflecting on it has provided so many smiles. Look in 2002 for a new barf joke graphic. OMG. I was laughing out loud the entire time I read doing it.!! I even got the SteveCo bat boy save from the Giants World Series. Just some classics.

I am glad I kept files like barf jokes.
Barf pics 2013.
Hawthorne 2010 and beyond
Etc.

I am bummed a couple server moves (One barf - one mine) has caused some loss of content. Oh well. :dunno

gee willickers

Being a late arrival in August of 2002, I was a Usenet refugee, remember ba.motorcycles, or rec.Motorcycles ? Most of the members were early tech people, or similar folks who also rode motorcycles. We frequently had discussions about IEEE issues as much bikes. I recall a heated discussion about whether 802.11 would ever take hold. :rofl

My memories of that era are starting to dim, but there is where I met Craig Hightower and a few other riders from the East Bay.

Some of the people from the usenet mailing lists ended up at BARF, since many ISPs no longer supported usenet at all. The Yahoo groups were never going to be the answer,it seemed, so BARF had to be.
And so BARF is, thanks to Dennis and all the people who keep the chains greased.
