Plus a thousand. BARF is the real deal, genuine, caring, funny, somber, helpful, frustrating :laughing.... it's a true community.

Great thread D! Crazy how long I've been coming to BARF.. Really made an impact on my life and the friends I made and consider my best friends. Not sure where I'd be without it! Kind of weird, yet awesome!

If you want to roll out to Mugello, LMK. ;)

THANK YOU

Being a late arrival in August of 2002, I was a Usenet refugee, remember ba.motorcycles, or rec.Motorcycles ? Most of the members were early tech people, or similar folks who also rode motorcycles. We frequently had discussions about IEEE issues as much bikes. I recall a heated discussion about whether 802.11 would ever take hold. :rofl

My memories of that era are starting to dim, but there is where I met Craig Hightower and a few other riders from the East Bay.

Some of the people from the usenet mailing lists ended up at BARF, since many ISPs no longer supported usenet at all. The Yahoo groups were never going to be the answer,it seemed, so BARF had to be.
And so BARF is, thanks to Dennis and all the people who keep the chains greased.

Who is the keeper of the list, eh denizen?

I don't know how I missed this one Dennis. As one famous Vulcan would put it, "live long and prosper". Here's looking forward to another 15 years.

I am glad some of you guys are still catching up with this post.

It was a memory tripping for me doing it and I kept having to wipe the :barf love off the keyboard... :laughing

Awesome writeup ... have been in and out, mostly out, over the last fifteen years, but I'm always glad to come back and see BARF persists.

OMG! Talk about ancient thread revival Batman! :wow Somehow, I managed to not find a single pic of me anywhere in this thing (didn't read the entire 100+ pages...uh, no!)

When this all started then I used to hang w/the "CanyonStrafers" Southbay twisty group sometimes; who started rides over Mt. Hamilton f/the front side.

Also did some trackdays along w/these guys; but by that time I'd started slowing tremendously. Such is life I guess....some stay the same, but I started slowing about this period...02'-10'...thinking of kids/family/mortality; sad yes but true...

Least I was still riding the early 00' ZX12R then, my all time favorite "giggle" machine. I have very few pics of that bike/me, or me & the old ZRX1100, if anyone has any, would like to hear/see from you very much! I have very few pics of that era in my life...

God Bless you all & da BARF! :thumbup

Keep on truckin'...:teeth :afm199

All the best you oldtimers!

Cannot believe I did not include the Bud sold barf crap in 2014. The mods, Tim and I colluded to lay down the best April fools joke ever.

I paid for it. .

I sure regretted it.

Bud, and all the founding members who put
incredible amount of time and efforts to keep BARF going.
am privileged!

by the way, my thread nickname was given to me by the founders, at the bar in SF, my first BARF gathering. tons of fun, teasing, (I bet they were tipsy)
Iwas so shy, and a kid!
Great memories.
