2016 - 15 years of barfing review.

Great thread Budman!

BARF has been a huge part of my adult life. Going through your timeline jogged great memories.
Joined BARF in March 2002 to post up about my stolen bike (1st bike). 30+ bikes later, still here. Made many friends.. bought and sold many things.. learned so much. Helped a few people.

Known BARF longer than my kid! LOL been part of many forums but nothing keeps going like BARF. Great job by you and all the mods / contributors..

Appreciate the kind words. :blush :thumbup

I am still supplementing the thread guys..a bunch of sloshball stuff added. Some UBOB... who knows what else as I continue this first couple weeks of '17.

Adding a pic or two to each year as well.

Wow, 15 years already !?!?! How time flies!!!!!
Bud, it's really cool of you to research and post this amazing walk down memory lane.
Barf sure has changed for the better after all these years with the hard work of you and the mods. :thumbup
I'll do my best to make the coming summer Barf bash. :party

Lots of fond memories and good times over the years with BARF. It started with me wanting to share pictures from a Buttonwillow track day back in '02...and then searching for Wannabe at the Sacramento Raceway...The 2009 BARF Spring rally remains one of the best!

Since then I have met lots of cool people and had many memorable rides...

I sold my last bike (2008 KTM Superduke) in 2012..., but still read the forum almost every day and plan to get another bike soon. My 2 kids and work have been taking all my free time these last few years, but I plan to get another bike this year!!!

We migrated into bar and grille places and did many a group rides until someone decided we should wear vests.
That's when the OG's split off and just did our own thing.
Some CVH members still here on the barf, but not many.
It was the barf that helped us all find eachother.

So, back in the embryonic stage, which came first: the BARF acronym, or the name? Did you sit down and figure out "What could BARF be an acronym of?" or did you come up with Bay Area Riders Forum and notice "Hey, look at that acronym!"

BudMan it was the smiley that has a cropped photo of Steve with the dancing banana gif.

Oh yeah... hmmm wonder where that could be...our catacombs are deep.

I believe it was the second..., but perhaps JacktheTripper or other first few members could confirm.

Rolls with it...
We still have time for fun though. Here is some of it:
Old Race Photos
As race fans this thread hit us in the stomach. For those that were not race fans it probably raised an eyebrow. No doubt barf has inspired a few riders to go see some racing or actually RACE themselves.!

It was an absolute honor to publicly post my old, somewhat "primitive", pics for the first time here on barf, and then to have them go on to SuperbikePlanet as a couple of galleries... (I thought it gave me some "barf cred". :laughing )

Thanks Budman, for keeping barf, well, "barf"! :thumbup

Over the years I've met quite a few barfers, it's funny to say "I've seen you on barf..." and the introduce yourself using your barf handle, but there is always a nice simpatico that follows. Priceless...

You can find it in the link in post number 2.

Back in 2006 when I first discovered BARF, it was a godsend. At the time, I was regretting my job choice due to it's mind numbing and soul crushing nature. Stumbling across BARF, I now had something to look forward to, tons of content to read, in those minutes between the hours of boredom. Feanor's "Cold Shower" story hooked me. I later came to realize how much I gleaned from the BARF community as it relates to riding. I even picked up a great bike, the CB1000R from a BARFer (and I was living in Arizona at the time!) I can no longer imagine motorcycling without BARF.

To you Budman and all those who keep BARF running without commercialization, I wish to express my gratitude.

Thank you.
