Anyone going to Sturgis on a sports bike next month?

Teachers will be among the first to get it, allowing kids to go back to school. It's the teachers who are at risk, not the kids, though the kids parents and family are at risk.

Above all I like to play.
So far the two are pretty successful with low amounts of side affects. The are not giving you Covid. They are tricking your system into believing you have it and thus build up antibodies.

I am down for it, but we will have lots more data by the time it gets to the general population. Medical workers and elderly will be the first to get it and somehow I expect the Politicians and NBA players etc. will get to the front of the line before the general public gets it. :nchantr

They look good, but because we've shortened the protocols so, we simply haven't had the time to have a really good idea what else happens with them. I'm going to pretty much like a beta test. We'll quickly get millions of people to finish out the normal trials periods and then we'll have studies from that about six months later.

I do hope we get it right on the first ones out the gate, but I don't want to be a beta tester especially when we will get the needed data in a few months. I know what isolating for nine months is like, I can wait a few extra to stay safer. :0)

I agree D.

However a lot of Beta testers will come before us.
I am sure we will have a clue by the time the general public gets one. I am guessing late February/ early March.

If shit is hitting the fan we should know.

Agreed. If they start in December, by February we'll have a pretty good idea about at least the short term side effects.

Fear mongering?

As opposed to anti maskers?

Ask the people of South and North Dakota about that fear mongering, or down in San Antonio where they have freezer trucks for the stacks of bodies from Covid-19.....

I'll take somebody who cares about the welfare of others over those who don't give a fuck about others any day.

I guarantee you the military will be making all their service members get the vaccine whether they like to or not just like the flu shot. It's a lawful order and can get you an article 15 if refused. The Army has injected me with all sorts of stuff it can't be worse than the anthrax or small pox vaccines o_O' The anthrax vaccine burns as they inject it into you and you have to get like 5 of them!

But yeah COVID-19 explosion happening right now o_O' 2nd lockdown imminent because people dun be messin up.

During my 16 years in the Army, I spent a little over a year in Korea and never got a single Anthrax vaccine series even though they were supposedly required in order to go there and no one ever batted an eye about it. To my knowledge, they still no longer force the Anthrax vaccine for a variety of reasons.

Since the military is still not even earmarked as the first or probably even the second receiver of a vaccine, there's likely going to be a fairly large potential that some people may join the Army and ETS without ever receiving the vaccine.

The 99.98% of us want to get on with life
Where does this number come from? (Other than the obvious right-wing/QAnon nonsense claims.) Covid is on pace to be as deadly as cancer and heart attacks. With all the preventive measures. Without, it’d have already surpassed. So, seriously, what is 99.98%?

And yet airports that were "open" were empty.

This poll trendline shows a pretty consistent 30 percent who think the virus is not that big a deal, so hardly 99.8 percent.

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/coronavirus-polls/

But yes, 100 percent do want to get on with their lives and most will wait to be vaccinated to start doing so.

Yay America, where any dick with a computer can become a statistician, declare a problem not a problem, and then present their position as valid as anybody's. In fact, maybe even more valid because they're not part of what they've been told by other armchair-scientist dickheads is the "corrupted establishment."

And boy am I tired of it.

I'm going to become a motorcycle "scientist" because I've read a bunch of shit on the internet. Therefore, I'm telling you that you should always wheelie when lanesplitting, because statistically, there are no fatalities reported in 12 counties in California showing fatalities while wheelieing during lanesplitting. If you disagree with me, you're just part of the corrupted motorcycle-safety establishment, who are whipping up anti-wheelieing hysteria so they can continue to get their research grants.

In other words, GTFO with your diminished, anti-scientific excusing of indefensible behavior.

Of course, this is all delivered with much respect and love for a fellow BARFer.

This is gold, right here.
....and I was only prepared to chime in with a "Flat Earther" comparison.
Much respect.

I'll take somebody who cares about the welfare of others over those who don't give a fuck about others any day.

So I looked up some data about San Antonio ... found info for the entire county (not just city of San Antonio) ...
Number of people that died from Covid19:
11/27 - 1
11/26 - 0
11/25 - 6
11/24 - 2
11/23 - 0
11/22 - 0
11/21 - 2
11/20 - 7
11/19 - 0
11/18 - 3

So maybe fear mongering = saying "they have freezer trucks for the stacks of bodies from Covid-19" when reality is these numbers above.

I know each number of the dead is a loss for a family and we should do everything we can to avoid unneeded deaths ... and maybe people don't listen too well if you say "we have an average of 2 people dying each day over the last 10 days" but they do listen if you say "we have freezer trucks lining up for stacks of dead bodies".

But that also sounds like fear mongering to me.

I mixed up San Antonio with El Paso. They're all the same to me...

OK, looked up El Paso, the County & City numbers combined ... over last 10 days they are averaging 3.6 deaths per day.

Again, any loss of life is bad, but 3.6/day = freezer trucks for dead bodies??
