Can you leave a note in your mailbox for the postal person?

Anecdotal, I know, but:

Do to the laws that govern my industry, I must mail every one of my customers while I do business with them. It has to be certified mail. I also ship very expensive stuff to clients weekly. In 25 years of doing business with the USPS I’ve never ever had any issues ever, except once when a package I shipped broke apart (totally my fault). They issued a check to reimburse me (it was insured), and a while later I got the whole package back with an apology. That one issue was about 20 years ago. To give you an idea of how much business I do with them, I spent $860 there yesterday alone and I need to go back tomorrow.

They have always been awesome and easy to work with IMO. I also don’t have any special account or anything with them. I have to walk in and wait in line like any other customer. I know others have different experiences but that’s my story.

During the pre-election attacks, I reflected on similar things. Given the sheer volume of what they do and how much it costs, it's pretty goddammed Exceptional! (just had to). I hated the threat to an already beleaguered corp of very hardworking people

USPS issues have increased since summer.

I had a package coming from Asia. Came into LA for customs. For whatever reason it went to Arizona, then Texas, back to LA and finally the Bay.

I ordered a gift package from Red Bay Coffee in Oakland. It was to ship to my sister in Seattle. In the old days, it was Oakland USPS distribution center, then straight up I5 and into Seattle USPS distribution center. For this package, it from Oakland, to Salt Lake City, to Boise, to Spokane, to Tacoma, then Seattle. Go figure.

So, I ordered a pool light and I've been waiting for it, but twice now, I've been told that it was 'available for pickup' (Monday AM and Wednesday AM) but it doesn't tell me where it's located and why the fuck would I want to go pick it up when I already paid for priority mail?

Then I try to call somebody there but you can't get a human being to talk to.

Has anybody else gotten these BS messages?

I do not even understand how you are getting messages from the Post Office.

Having my mail forwarded from SD, watching the stops tracking used to provide. Another paywall?
I've seen it moved east many times before it starts west.
I think it is about what is allowed to fly at the time, storms to the west, not flying, sent east until it can go west.
Tennessee, a mail trap.
For my Dec. forwarding, sent two day air, took two weeks for delivery, went east then parked for week and a half.

I ordered a pair of Held gloves from Germany I think it was held in Europe for 3 weeks because of Covid before it came to the US. Only took 34 days to get to the local post office which I had to go to because it needed a signature.

I have a side biz that requires the use of Priority Mail via USPS.

In years past the “expected delivery date” (and delivery) was always 2 or 3 days, even to the East Coast. Starting last summer the estimates didn’t change but deliveries took more than a week in some cases and it’s continued.

How in the hell can they continue to market this product as a “two day” delivery?

I am in the same boat but have not gotten any complaints. people seem to understand. There is a deliberate effort ongoing to break the USPS and privatize it (And break the largest union in the US). I can't believe no one has mentioned (lack of) DeJoy yet. F that pig.

Shipping is slowed all around though, is it not? My experience tells me yes.

I don't trust any delivery options that say 2 day delivery that I know are coming from the other side of the country.

Sometimes it shows up on time but usually not.

At least with Amazon, the shipping is free so that softens the annoyance.

The thing I really hate Is a company claiming 2 day shipping..
And adding 4 more days after checkout...
