WTF is going on with USPS???

So, I ordered a pool light and I've been waiting for it, but twice now, I've been told that it was 'available for pickup' (Monday AM and Wednesday AM) but it doesn't tell me where it's located and why the fuck would I want to go pick it up when I already paid for priority mail?

Then I try to call somebody there but you can't get a human being to talk to.

Has anybody else gotten these BS messages?

I would suggest you write your Congressional representatives but I doubt that would do much good considering.

I would go to your local post office branch, give them the Priority Mail tracking number and have them resolve the issue.

I don't see the problem. That's the way it works. Some of the stops are regional distribution centers, some are offices where you can go there and pick the item up. I assume the last entry is your local PO and it's there for pickup, or you can wait till they put it on the delivery truck. I've seen the notice where it's out for delivery, but the yoob didn't actually drop it off and it goes back to the PO for the next day. Once when I saw it happen I went after the guy on my bike and made him give me my package! Once it went from WA all the way to NY and back to SoCal. You get used to it...

The last one isn't my local PO, it's cycled through the local one twice (93720) and left very early morning. It's 10 minutes away and an additional 20 minute wait to get to the counter, minimum.

Friend of mine had that same problem or pretty close to it. But this was over the holidays and they blamed it on that.

Ultimately a BS excuse that didn't add up.

USPS has been hit and miss lately. Thankfully regular mail still coming in without missing a heartbeat but packages on the other hand... :thumbdown:thumbdown

I had 5 open claims with USPS since October '20. I am grateful the vendors stepped in and took over the claims for me (and shipped out non-received orders via FEDEX). I've had many many items delivered late and I at first blamed Xmas rush but recently a lot of the vendors I give business to have notified customers to not select USPS as shipping option.

Rolls with it...
Good thing it's a pool light and not a kidney....

Isn't the ZIP code the number of a particular post office?

I don't see that particular office, though.

Yeah, I tried looking it up and it leads to nowhere. If I look it up on a map it's centered about 4o minutes away.

I ordered a head gasket.
A week later I received a notice of been delivered.
Opened up the PO Box....not there!
They lost it..couldn't find! I lost my money too.

Sometimes shit gets stuck in routing loops. I've seen it happen to Fedex and UPS too. It doesn't seem to happen very often.

Yep. Happens to me too. I've never been able to figure out if the package is actually ditty bopping around the country or the 1's and 0's are getting mixed up in the system and the box is sitting under someones desk.

I have the same thing going on with UPS. My package has been siting in Lodi since 1/30.

I could have driven out there and picked it up by now. :mad

Because of the detailed tracking, imaginative minds like me keep imagining a driver who just doesn't FEEEEEL like taking MY package and throws it, back, like a fish caught for sport.

But it's funny how the tracking itself is a kind of inadvertent performance review tool. Will they ever ask you what your experience was? Doubtful
