That was also one of the dirtiest games I've seen yet. Looked like the Croats were just out to hurt people right out of the gate. Then the Argentineans started flopping and retaliating so I felt less bad for them.

It SUCKS the games start at 3am or whatever.
So far, upsets yes, but nothing THAT outrageous or exciting? Maybe the round of 16 would be more interesting. Also, I guess I'm not that surprised blue blood countries have lost. Times change, generations change, you can't just count on history or tradition, etc. (See Italy, Netherlands, etc.).

They did not look good this year. Kind of wish SK had made it, but I guess Mexico deserve it (despite 3-0 today).

Sure Belgium, why not. Japan? Yeah also England...and for some reason I like France.
Was in Bayeux during France’s last game. Tour guide couldn’t end fast enough to get off to a pub to watch the game. A transplant from England, but a rabid supporter of the French team.
Then was in Antwerp during Belgium’s last game. What a party. Everyone was dressed up with faces painted and squeezed into a large plaza like sardines watching the game on Jumbotron screens. They also sat in every seat in every pub or cafe that all had brought in large outdoor TVs to show the game. The train ride back to Brussels that evening was quite festive as well. Fanatics.

Days later I was in Reykjavik. Iceland fans did the same there, but on a smaller scale. Mood was not so festive after getting crushed by Croatia.
World Cup is HUGE in Europe. Fun to watch the festivities, mayhem and rabid fans. :thumbup I’m rooting for Belgium at this point.
