Either this noob hasn't utilized the search button correctly but I haven't found any thread on the upcoming World Cup which is only seven days away? Anyone else going to watch? Last time someone posted links to stream them online (from work of course :laughing).

Well, no ties for me to Mexico, and I suppose our regional rivalry with them makes me not want to root for them.

It's like a UCD grad rooting for Sac State, UT grad rooting for Texas aTm, etc.

Yeah, true. But, I've never been one for conference loyalty or affiliation (for example, SEC schools rooting for each other, I find weird).

I do NOT want this thread booted (ISWIDT) to Political. But, if I'm honest, some part of me doesn't want to root for Mexico, due to domestic CA politics (I'll stop there, unless someone wants political ranting).

I'll be rooting for Argentina. Messi is the GOAT and this is probably his last chance to drag the team to a cup while he's playing at his peak.

After that, I'm hoping Brazil can win one, but it's gonna be tougher now that Dani Alves is hurt and can't play.

I like watching all the teams play, I'll be rooting for Mexico but watching Argentina, Portugal (for my Portugee homies) and Brasil are always entertaining!

They're a top 5 team in the world IMO. Some even have them ranked 3rd behind Germany and Brazil.

I went to Barranquilla last year, was fun. You'd think I was the first Asian person to ever set foot in the country though.
