Awesome.:thumbup

Just got an 06 myself. Ripped off tractor tail light and snugged up a DRC Edge. Loctited the C/S sprocket...which I could have waited for---new chain and sprockets arrived today. Put brand new Bridgestone S20 tires on.

Got a new pre oiled No Toil air filter and ThumperTalk oil change kit coming in mail. And some stock mirrors--ugly buuuut I want a fair chance to SEE Crown Vics behind me.

This bike makes you bad.

Just picked up a very clean and well modded 06 with only 5000 miles on it. The bike looked immaculate when I bought it...not so much after crashing it yesterday:mad...now I know why people kept telling me I was going to get in trouble...these things are so damn fun!:teeth I lowsided and the bike flipped... rashed both sides a little but I picked it up and rode it home...still looks great from 10 feet away:thumbup

Damn Mike. Glad you were able to ride it home. I hope you made it through that without any injury.

I just picked up an '09 with 8700 miles. So far loving it!

Glad it wasn't anything worse Mike. Maybe one day I'll truck it out there and play with you. I haven't thought about the kart track yet but that sounds fun too.

Sorry to hear about the crash, glad to hear you're ok! I saw this bike on C-list in Santa Rosa. What a freakin deal that bike is! I run that same Yoshi TRC titanium exhaust on my bike, they stopped making it back in 2009 and it is the most badass racing pipe you can fit to a DRZ. Some argue the MRD/SSW is the best, but the yoshi is lighter. Also I think your bike was fitted with an FCR41 which is strange unless it is bored out to a 462cc stroker...
Anyway, just wanted to post because I am jealous and if you wanna trade bikes, let me know:laughing

Thanks...I couldn't believe how clean this bike was...looked like it just came off the showroom floor. It crashed good too...only a few small scuffs :)

I recommend joining the DRZ400 thumpertalk forum if you haven't already. The Z has a few loose ends that need to be locked down and the FAQ section over there covers some important points...faulty front sprocket nut, stator bolts backing out, and a poorly designed ACCT that most replace with a MCCT. :ride

I think you have to run a rear tire on the front as no one makes a 17 knobbie for front.

I think it looks terrible and appears to handle interestingly.

If the he terrain isnt too technical the street tires will be good...or you can get like avon distanzias which will do mild off road well and grip well on the street.

Added A DRZ to the mix

Got me a 07 today... its got slicks on it runs great but already ordered the big bore kit. gonna be a straight hooligan bike for the goaty twisties.
Need those clamp on bar mirrors and some tires... would be for 80-90% street sliding and a fire road or trail or two.... best tire suggestions welcome! :teeth

..... AM43 AND AM44 ? right...

Yes. Only ones they sell...just designates front vs rear.

On their site 120/70-17 and 150/60-17 and 160/60-17 are supermoto specific compound. I've heard
this is how they come from US distributors too. They are the exact sizes you want (I'd go 150/60 for rear not 160).

I have two new Bridgestone radial tire specific inner tubes I'm going to list for sale tomorrow in classifieds. You might want to think about new tubes.
