And then.....the fucking well went dry. And the neighbors kept burning brush in the vast tinderbox we all lived in (who knows the fuck why) and we just kind of got sick of fires and droughts and earthquakes, so fuck it, we sold that house to someone who thought he could find water (good luck!) and moved all the way out to Massachusetts.

6 miles after making it all the way across the country with my shop goods, my truck ate it's own rear end. Fitment was like....sex in the back of a VW.

So, I moved, and so did the cars.
The Falcon got dinged up in shipment and....the radio and electronic ignition were no longer operable. Who knows what the hell happened.
It needed a reprime, and got one.
This is better than what happened to my '61 Chrysler, where the dumb motherfucker who loaded it put a strap across the tailfins and crushed them.
The surest sign I've gotten older is that I didn't beat the fuck out of him.

The trunk lid rusted out. See the black bit at the very top? There's nothing there, and there should be.
I welded a bunch of tabs to the lid, and then...got creative with the ground
So with that piece missing the trunk lid curvature was all off. I had a buddy push it down while I welded it to the tabs as we went along to get it to match the body lines.

With the shape now correct, we can pull the trunk lid off and make a piece to fill that gap.

In other news I'll never forgive my wife for wanting exterior door handles. Every other bit of trim and what not has been removed. Except for those.
It's the worst thing she's ever done, and she tossed my Ducati on the pavement.

Or rather than align the trunk, verify by closing it and then have it move once opened and repeat 8 million times, it's easier to close your buddy inside.
The emblem hole for the trunk is still there, so I debated peeing on him because that's the kind of friend I am. Worried it'd get on my seats though.
