That is f’d up stuff.

And the moto folks.....most of them stand by holding themselves expecting others to take action. That is so frustrating to me.

Riding All The Time
I finally made some calls
I thank you all who are more politically active than I am and your efforts to get people engaged.
We really are losing our riding freedoms at an alarming rate. Being a minority group (M/C's), we really need to speak up.

I'm pasting the info I used from dave picketts earlier post, so you don't have to dig for it (fyi, the number 916-319-2006 did not identify themselves by "Baker", but some other name) :

..... We need to keep up the pressure on Senator Glaser and Assemblywoman Baker. Anybody that rides at Carnegie and wants the expansion, then these two need to be buried in phone calls citing opposition and burn up their phone lines. Simple to do, just say your name, you live in the area (city and zip code) and you STRONGLY OPPOSE SB-1316. The need to hear a MASSIVE SPIKE in phone calls from the OHV community.

Call Glaser at 916-651-4007 Capitol office or 925-754-1461 local office &
Call Baker at 916-319-2006 Capitol office or 925-328-1515 local office or you can call both and say same thing. Be POLITE and Professional...........
I cannot stress enough that you make these calls.............. They will keep tabs on these calls and advise the member, so the more calls they get, they will KNOW that constituents are calling, thus they KNOW you vote in their district.

I am so disappointed to find my local senator voting for this.

Here's what I sent him (believing that he is swayed by money, not public interest)…

Regarding S.B. 1316.

Senator Jim Beall,

I am so disappointed to see that you have been voting in favor of this land grab by the wealthy locals.
These wealthy locals want to buy public park land for their own use despite it already being owned and designated for other park activity use.

Once again I am disappointed to see how money sways our elected officials over public interest.

I strongly encourage you to look deeper into this issue and change your stance in favor of the public instead of the wealthy locals.

In closing I would like you to stop and consider the 10's of thousands of folks who currently look forward to using the land that was purchased and designated for them, versus the few local wealthy residents with a different agenda.

Regards... John Logan

Please look at the first post, as i will try to keep that updated.

I just talked to Erika at Assemblymember Kalra's office and she said the bill has been re referred to the Appropriations Committee.

I think that letting you Assemblymember and State Senator that you care and are paying attention and that you vote and you have friends is important.

something Tweety posted somewhere:

I love those letters and unfortunately I don't live in Glazer's district. Everybody sees cattle and thinks of pastoral scenes from the English country side. Livestock farming causes more damage to the ecosystem than almost any other activity.
"The environmental impact of meat production varies because of the wide variety of agricultural practices employed around the world. All agricultural practices have been found to have a variety of effects on the environment. Some of the environmental effects that have been associated with meat production are pollution through fossil fuel usage, animal methane, effluent waste, and water and land consumption. The 2006 report Livestock's Long Shadow, released by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, states that "the livestock sector is a major stressor on many ecosystems and on the planet as a whole. Globally it is one of the largest sources of greenhouse gases (GHG) and one of the leading causal factors in the loss of biodiversity, while in developed and emerging countries it is perhaps the leading source of water pollution." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Environmental_impact_of_meat_production
In other words, the cattle destroy the very environment for the very plants and animals that Celeste and Connolly contend are being threatened by our trails. See: https://carnegiejournal.com/2018/03/02/a-call-to-action-for-all-carnegie-riders/

It doesn't mean we get to stop fighting.
It will be back dressed differently, take a breath, sharpen your weapons, and stay tuned to fight. :mad

Perhaps we can help our legislators see that "Save Tesla Park" is a astroturf organization for Celeste Garamendi Inc.

I just got that phrase from John Oliver. He did cover our pal with "Crowds on Demand" too.
