My coworker gave my the game piece and said hey grab me a Big Mac while your there and here use this. 5 seconds into the transaction and the absolute befuddlement on the face of the first cashier, I was ready to just cut bait and just pay for his Big Mac to put an end to the misery quickly. Each new person would ask me if I wanted a Big Mac as if I hadn’t already ordered it.
So this McDonalds actually has touch screen kiosks where you can order and pay by yourself. It works quite well. However since I was redeeming this stupid game piece and actually had to use the cashier, I quickly saw how fast the cashier training has gone downhill since this McDonald’s out the kiosks in several months ago.
Generally I hate self checkout kiosks but it makes so.much sense at a fast food place. Let me hide my shame. Better yet, just shoot it out of the building like that 3 flies up football launcher when in was a kid. I dont need to interact with anyone

No they’re amazing. Almost completely eliminates anything getting lost in translation. Ever say no onions only to wind up with what apparently they thought you said was “extra” onions? Of course there’s other links in the chain where the ball can be dropped, but the kiosk at least one human factor that is usually the source of the most frustration when going to a fast food place. I actually prefer it over the laziness of being able to sit in my car and just order in the drive thru.
Complaining about the ineptitude of McDonalds workers is just too easy. Like talking about something involving going to the airport always turns into a TSA sucks conversation.
Let’s all return to the gloriousness that is the mighty McRib.
