Same buddy who took the pic said the rider survived. Whew, I hope he's not too injured, that's a miracle!

Thanks, KRON4 for the assumption that the rider's speed was the cause of the accident.

You're basing that on what exactly?

Well, that's what local news anchors do: look at footage while free associating with fake sincerity.

Still tho, it's nothing short of amazing that the rider ended up conscious. I hope that he is able to recover well from his injuries.

As in absorbing the energy of the rider's fall (or whatever it's called)?

I hope so too.

Well, figure the hood took some of the force by crumpling, and then the suspension of the vehicle easing the fall a bit......

Lucky dude!!

Jesus fucking christ, that is terrifying. Glad to hear the rider was conscious... anxioously awaiting more news from hospital.

Has anyone cross posted this to ADVrider? There's a good chance he's on there or someone would know him.

edit: I just cross posted to ADVrider in both West Coast and KTM forums. Hopefully we can identify rider and make sure friends and family have been notified.

Wow, that was a lucky landing - hope the rider is OK and makes a full recovery from any (hopefully minor) injuries sustained.

The person driving the SUV must have had a bit of a fright too!

That's the block I work on. I can see officers on scene on the Folsom ramp from my window, but I don't have a view to the end of 1st & clementina. Might head for an early lunch to check things out.

The SUV was actually parked from what it looks like. So the owner may or may not even know about it yet.

Does anyone know if it was an KTM "950/990 Adventure" model? Or "950 Super Enduro"?

There's a bunch of people with Adventures, but only a small handful of Super Enduro's.

I'm guessing he got it right as the ADV. The SE doesn't come in black that I know of. "Super" would mean it's not the LC4 640 ADV. Plus the Enduro is harder to identify from a split second on the highway.

I'm sure you're right, the SE is much more difficult to identify. I only ask because the 950 SE actually has a sticker that says "Super Enduro" while "Super" isn't anywhere on the Adventure model, in name or sticker.
