BARFer, Ozymandias thrown off Folsom St exit, lands on Clementina/1st. Get well soon!

I'm in SF and have lots of free time so PM me if any legwork needs doing. I don't have a truck but I have a ramp and straps and a garage.

AFAIK, the registered owner is the only one able to get the vehicle out of impound. Insurance will likely take care of the added cost.

I pulled my friend's bike out of impound while he was still in ICU. All the towing company cared about was the cash. It was a while ago so the wife may or may not have released it to us, I'm pretty sure she didn't, though.

And after talking to Paul, KRON 4's "re-enactment" :)rolleyes) is full of shit.
Great to hear that he's going to make a full recovery! :thumbup

I don't think I've ever met Paul, but I've seen plenty of his posts and always enjoyed reading them!

As to KRON 4's 're-enactment'....as a mechanical engineer and rider it simply didn't look feasible to me, the physics were all wrong! I hope that some Real witnesses step forward and straighten out the facts.

No one will ever have a better crash and recovery story to tell...

Damn right.

Any crash story that you live to tell is a good one.

Any crash story that involves improvised low-altitude BASE jumping and the phrase, "And then I body-slammed an SUV" is a great one.

(wellwishing)

With all due respect, aren't you BARF's falling-from-heights specialist? I'd say you bring some positive juju to this thread for that alone. :thumbup (Seriously, not trying to be a jerk)

Just left Paul a little bit ago, and he looks amazingly good... black eye, pale, & a little shaky, but it was such a relief to see him!!
He's having surgery this afternoon to plate his broken pelvis, & a screw for the broken vertebrae, & then tomorrow gets moved to Kaiser Vallejo. He was really touched to hear about the outpouring of well wishes from BARFers.
Best news of all, though, is hearing he will make a full recovery! :)

Hooray!

You know the guys who make that air bladder vest, right? You should ask them to modify it with a parachute shaped like this --> :twofinger

Dub it--> Ozzy LALO vest.. (Low altitude, low opening.)

Having lurked forums to gain insight into accidents and help make liability decisions, I dislike it when a factual statement is made only to follow it up and learn that no, this is supposition and the accident was not actually witnessed by any of the posters.
In this particular accident I imagine family, friends, lawyers, and insurance adjusters are going to be following these threads closely.
Please let's all stay positive and keep the speculation to a minimum.

If someone is looking to BARF to gain insight to swing a liability decision those that work in the legal profession are in much worse shape than I've ever thought!

I just contacted the red cross about hosting a blood drive. Let's see what they say. Can someone give me access to the 1rider forum again? I seem to have been bumped from being able to post there.

Doesn't surprise me in the least. KRON is the most low-budget excuse for a news organization in history. :laughing

I've lived in a lot of different areas in the US and worked in the US, Europe and the Middle East. I've never seen News stations as bad as these in the Bay area anywhere else... Heck, if this had happend in LA, there would be live helicopter footage of Ozzy's aerial replaying on TV...
