Barf Baja 2020 is happening!

Darwin's exception
Yep, 2020 kicks off this week. Some folks are already making their way south as we speak. Main party will be on the bikes this Saturday AM.

This year we will be doing a northern loop over 10 days. You can follow us as we make progress with Taco's, Tequila, and Trail Side repairs here at spotwalla. Password to view is Bajahahaha2020

We have 16 official tequila testers. It includes only 3 Hondas this year, 2 Kawasakis, 2 Betas, a Husaberg (which may be substituted at the last minute for a Honda) and a Yamaha. The remainder are KTMs or their white clad Swedish imposters. No official odds yet on who will win the branded buzzard repellent from the KTM hard parts catalog yet.

2020 riders are:

Oaklandf4i
1962siia
Norcalslowpoke
anytwowilldo
Rebekahlynn
thedub
Dmitry
Slowpez
cyclenomad
Daniel503a
Motorcyclernn
bob-19
racinmason
swedespeed
SFMCJohn
Kalle

I am hoping folks will use this thread to post updates, pics, and recap of their adventure.

Baja F' Yeh! :twofinger

I can't wait. I'm on my way to install this very valuable Baja kickstand accessory now.

I just finished organizing all those routes thedub pulled together for us into something comprehensible on my GPS. Have to relearn how to use the damn thing every year. :facepalm

Wiles put a ton of work into this to give us so many options. Slowpez helped pull together the majority of our reservations too. Trip wouldnt have come off without Wiles and Will. Huge thanks! :applause

I'll be up later still to finish insurance, tourist card and few other items online tonight. Then get bike prep and packing finished up tomorrow.

Anybody know where Sally might be?

My enthusiasm finally lit up and I'm psyched for the trip! Was looking at last years pics last night- while we've made so many good memories South of Bola, I am really excited to venture into new territory this year.

Will post pics as Wifi/service allows. If Barf uploads are not doable on the road, Instagram probably will be and since Barf is now on Insta, I'll post there and tag #bayarearidersforum. Bud or others - Feel free to re-post any pics I put on insta, on Barf.

Let's ride! :ride :port

I can't wait. I'm on my way to install this very valuable Baja kickstand accessory now.

I may be a big enough dork to wear an Aerostich, but I'll never be a big enough dork to put a tennis ball on my dirt bike's kickstand, and I stand by that.

we’re in Catavina tonight.

Cold riding in CA on Sunday and Monday, but looks like the Hacienda Santa Veronica crew will have perfect weather on Saturday ... got to hang out with Coco this afternoon ...

Both groups made it to San Felipe after dark tonight. Fun routes today. The slow group was planning to take the old rumorosa grade road but we got CJ-ed into taking this rocky straight down the hill hiking trail instead. It was rocky and steep and the hikers we saw coming up were calling us loco! :laughing

We all made it, then hit the dry lake bed for high speed fun. Sun was going down by the time we got most of the way across and then we hit some thick mud but made it back to the highway. Rode the last 40 miles in the dark. Pics when we have better service. :thumbup
