Congrats on the finish! The course was a little shorter than previous years but it seemed a little harder as well. The hard splits were tough with the the loose rocky hill climbs!

I really enjoyed the endurocross sections that took you back on to C street. I hope they do that again next year. It was also really cool to see the adventure bikes out there!

I got 3 laps in and placed higher than previous years so I was happy with my effort. Got to get ready for the fools gold this weekend. Looks like it’s going to be another 75 miles this weekend.

I definitely had fun. I also had a pretty decent race, got 6th in Amateur 30+.

I would highly encourage anyone who rides dirt to come give it a try sometime. Even if you aren't really interested in racing, or don't consider yourself a 'racer', just you vs the course is a really great challenge. You can see by the pages upon pages of DNFs in the Saturday and Sunday results, that just finishing the race is an accomplishment. Plus it's just a really cool event, to see hundreds and hundreds of dirt bikers completely take over a historic mining town is a sight to behold.

What a fun race!

Cain (Trailjammer) and I started out row 31? (numbers 313 and 314). By the end we passed over 250 riders, taking 48th and 65th overall. My first lap was about 1 hour 20 minutes, lots of traffic and first lap endurance pace; then I picked up the pace and finished 3 laps at 3:30. Cain ahead of me by 5 minutes, with crashes, and he stopped to pit for some gnarly blisters on his hands - he was hauling!

I'm working on cutting down my video to make it interesting enough to watch.

Joe took some great photos:

But remember it's scored on corrected time, so you didn't necessarily have to pass all those riders, but rather just make up your starting deficit on them.

I wondered about that, it didn't look like they were timing the lines as we started. Once all bikes were rolled up to the line, the flagger checked it was clear and waved. Is someone recording the times of each line start?

To add to that, the people that finished directly in front and behind me, scored directly in front and behind me in scoring. 66 Sarah Forney, number 148, I passed before we got to the two enduro sections, she finished 16 seconds behind me on scoring. Started 15 rows ahead, but occupied the physical space behind me at the finish. Maybe I'm just having a hard time wrapping my head around this one, but to me it doesn't seem like there's a time correction based on your lines start time.

Yeah the timing and scoring people were sitting at that table right behind the guy with the flag, after the start they move to the side out of the way.
They mark when each row goes off, then the checkered flag is shown row by row. So everyone gets the checked flag 4 hours from when their row started. That's why they stress you have to finish under your checkered flag or you DNF. A timing/scoring person holds up a board that says Row x, and the helpers at the finish line look at the number plates and direct people off course if they are finished, or to do another lap if time hasn't elapsed for their row.

This was a coolgroup shot. Thanks so much for the pit help! Also l, thanks to Dmitry for moving our bikes cuz we had just finished and we couldn’t move for the life of us lol. Hardest race ever for me. Tons of fun. Someone should have video’d us trying to get on our bikes for this pic hahaha!

Final results and lap times are posted.

One question I had was the pit time. I pitted after the second lap before starting my 3rd lap. Was the pit time added to my 3rd lap time?

The 3rd lap was my fastest so if it included the 5 minutes or so I had in the pits I really made up some time on the 3rd lap.

I chopped up my gopro video, it only lasted until about halfway through the second lap.

Thanks for being so polite when you pulled up to me at 11:40 in the video :laughing. I ended up taking a line to the right to avoid the bottle neck. Looks like you passed me at the 14:50 mark.

The bottle neck spots sure did seem easier on laps 2 and 3 when there weren’t as many people on the course.
