I dont think yall need to worry about it.

Seems like this is a way to get rid of anybody...the 85 year old gramma with a humpback who is slow and might be protected by age discrimination laws? But your honor, I had a granny fetish and she was turning me on! But I had a black/asian/chubby/skinny fetish and he/she is turning me on :laughing

Seems to me it's a good way around all the "protected class" laws.

It's not illegal to fire someone.

As far as gender discrimination, she'd have to show a pattern of discriminating against women. The article said all his employees are female so that's not gonna fly.

Not as fast as I look.
That is absolutely retarded. The guy has no self control, so it is the attractive woman's fault? Isn't this the same argument that rapists have used to justify their assaults? It's very hard to believe a court ruled this way. I feel a time-warp coming on. :loco

She should have sued first for sexual harassment, judging by this statement:
But in the final months of her employment, he complained that her tight clothing was distracting, once telling her that if his pants were bulging that was a sign her clothes were too revealing, according to the opinion.

you can fire someone for any reason, as long as it's not legal discrimination.
so sure, fire her because she's too hot or he's too ugly. same difference.

doesn't matter anyway, smart employers will hire/fire by making up "legitimate" reasons.
clearly, the dentist is not the smartest guy in the room.

Slooooow down....

Make it perfectly clear who did the sacking:
simply because he and his wife viewed the woman as a threat

One woman forced the firing of another.

When I was in a LTR and changed secretaries, I practically had to run the prospective candidates passed my GF.

Just sticking to this case - I think it is discrimination, unless the guy can prove that he is bi-sexual and gets a boner from the dudes in tight pants that he works on.

[All I can see in my mind is Steve Martin in "Little Shop of Horrors" :laughing]

She did not allege sexual harassment because Knight's conduct may not have risen to that level and didn't particularly offend her, Fiedler said.

I.e. her attorney didn't see a case for that, or you can bet they would have. Seems just as likely that she was sexually harassing her boss.

I am not sure I can keep myself from sexually harassing you, and the court agrees that's grounds for termination...

Seems like this is a tunnel-sized loophole for sexual harassment situations. What say you, BARF?

Back that up a bit, his wife insisted he fire her, as a threat to their marriage.

He didn't fire her willingly, I am sure...

She wasn't fired for being female, she was fired for getting too close to him (off hours texts, etc.) in a way that made his wife very uncomfortable.

Sexual harrassment at work is a problem.

The solution is posting more warning signs.

"Such firings may be unfair, but they are not unlawful discrimination under the Iowa Civil Rights Act because they are motivated by feelings and emotions, not gender, Justice Edward Mansfield wrote."

Ha Ha .... It looks like the Iowa court just opened the door to make gay marriage legal in that state :laughing

Well, thank God I aint no threat to any guy's wife :party

Mother of God.
This ISN'T a court case saying that it's okay to fire someone who's hot, and you're afraid you might accidentally bone with them.

It's SAYING that doing so does not constitute unlawful discrimination.

Again, it's nothing more than a clarification of what discrimination means.
