That was great, nice find! Do you actually have a klr650 and a dr650 at the same time? Can't beat the utilitarian nature of the klr650, but the dr650 is probably a better bike at everything..?

Gimme a klr and I can kill it.
A lot of people believe the XR650L is also reliable as a hammer. "All you have to do is keep gas and oil in it" they say. Apparently if you run it out of oil (which I did) then you can kill it.

I really tried to like the KLR650 and took test rides on several of them before giving up and getting a Honda. However, I rented one in Hawaii and put over 300 miles on it and I had to admit that they're better on pavement than the XR. That experience made me stop making fun of the KLR every chance I got. :laughing

Whatever that means
They still making the DR650, which is kinda like the klr except better in most regards.

My KLR has been very good to me.

Whenever I start thinking of getting rid of it something stops me.. I suppose I'll end up keeping it and seeing how long it lasts..

After just watching that I almost feel like I want KLR.

I expect that feeling will disappear if I give it 5 minutes.

Yep I do have both I can't bring myself to get rid of the KLR650. I've turned it into a sport tourer of sorts. The DR650 is definitely a better offroad bike. It's just smaller. It's the middle of the road between the classic heavy dual sports XRL and KLR

Parapin over on ADV did this in Baja, welded it up and rode it home. The bike discoganya and HO posted spent a week in the water and was revived ...

I say god bless Kawasaki because they tool up and make a bike for 20 years whether we want it or not ... :laughing

KLRs may not die, but to keep mine going has taken one frame, two engines, three top ends, three speedo clusters and 500 gallons of oil ...

when I grow up I’m getting a DR650 ... :toothless
