When you attempt to blackmail a person with more means than 99% of the planet...

Jeff Bozo is butthurt.

As would be anyone who received such a letter. Except he also doesn't care about keeping this quiet. Everybody already knew about his affair, big fucking deal, and at his age and wealth, what does he care if people see the photos?

The New York Post and the HuffPost had fun with headlines today: "Bezos Exposes Pecker."

How did the enquirer get these pictures?

They have always been total scumbags, I wouldn't expect anything less out of them.

Bezos' security guy is speculating that the source may be in the US government. He doesn't think the phone was hacked, but rather that the communications were intercepted.

It's possible, but definitely a misuse of power if that's how it went down.

An NSA analyst, sympathetic to Trump? Not many of those, I suspect.

It's more likely that Bezos' mistress was dumb enough to back up those images on the cloud, where they're easy pickings.

Either that, or someone met her in person and distracted her while they fucked with her phone. Or "Wow, that's a nice Galaxy 11 you got, I've been thinking of getting one, can I check it out?"

Some reporter "coincidentally" named as a Mia Farrow's son also reported the same/similar blackmail.

Well of course in today's phones the backup is automatic. iPhone cloud , and users don't exactly know or care, they're not security experts. On Samsungs you could have two clouds unless ATT makes them three...
In fact on Android it is less automatic by default.
Not exactly a big blame.

Oh wait I forgot she's a pilot. Not exactly a proof she will/can turn off iPhone cloud.

It isn't difficult to deactivate backups on iPhone. You can choose exactly what you want to backup, from which app......Or nothing at all.

If you're not connected to wifi, you're using your data allowance, and cloud backups would rapidly eat into that, so......No thanks.

Apple dropped the ball, big time, on the security of their cloud.

It's on them. Reasonable people would have assumed that their data was being stored in a secure manner. How does Apple fucking up make them dumb?

Good on him for standing up to them. I wish more people would do that.

Still wonder what possesses people to take pics like that and keep them on their phone and/or send them over unsecure channels.

You the boss m8, tell that grown up pilot woman she shouldn't be using her data allowance

... assuming they're stolen from her. Still.

Not as fast as I look.

Yeah, but it is just like those magazine subscriptions that you have to UN-subscribe from. Not intuitive at all. And when I wanted to keep the "find your phone" active so others could find me when I ride, it was a bit challenging to do that while not putting other information in Apple's orchard.

I don't know if I am paranoid or smart, but I have a lot of back-up disks and keep nothing in the swamp. I mean cloud.

Here, let me explain how it's her fault that someone stole her private pictures.

:laughing

Earlier articles claim she forwarded his text to friends to brag about the catch she’s made. Definitely her fault for thinking those could never go beyond that.

Yes, because reasonable people = intimate knowledge of tech. :thumbup

If you don't know, too fuckin bad. :laughing

And if she did forward the texts, then yeah it's on her.
