What are you doing to improve your chance of good outcome with covid-19?

The odds are, that you'll eventually get infected with this virus.

What are you doing, if anything, to improve your odds of a good outcome?

I'm keeping myself very healthy, exercising often (>40 minutes hard cardio a day), eating healthy, continuing to drink lots of fluids and doing the social distancing and other things to push off the day I get infected, within reason.

Wish I was better at getting more than 9 hours of sleep, but can't seem to get around that.

I have a singular approach to all health issues: continue doing whatever Keith Richards does.

Merely Rhetorical
Tall glass of fresh squeezed disinfectant every morning.

Wasn't that like a presidential order or sumting?

I feel like the cards are stacked. I'd rather have gotten it already. I can't imagine this when the weather is over 100F.

Nothing out of the ordinary. I don't smoke or drink, take a daily vitamin, go for a walk every day I don't work, don't eat fast food and get 8hrs sleep.

I do wear a mask in stores and wash hands a lot.

I wasn't riding in order to not get hurt and end up in a hospital bed. I'm guna start riding again. Our local hospitals are empty and could use the business.

In many cases its the immune response that kills. Maybe you don't want to be too healthy.
Actually, if you read what Dr SLO/snaggy have been posting, it's the places where your cardiovascular system is compromised that is where the virus is attacking and harming people.

I suspect (I'm not president, so I can speculate) that there is a genetic component in how the body responds, perhaps in time they'll find that some populations that were exposed to some epidemic centuries ago had some genetic variation decimated that is more susceptible to this virus.

Social distancing, my usual excellent hand washing practices, healthy food, yoga every damn day to keep my body healthy and handle stress. Good sleep habits generally.

No smoking weed. No drinking.

Finding reasons to laugh, connecting with Mom via FaceTime for giggles.

I have factorv Leiden, which is a hypercoagulation disorder. Weeee..

I'm eating well, exercising not quite fanatically but have stepped up my usual routine considerably, Bench pressing 80% of my body weight 15 reps. Lots of walking, weights, bicycle and naps. Lots of naps. :).

I'm fanatical about hygiene, bring masks everywhere I go, gloves, and alcohol spray to sanitize, which includes a routine when entering a car.

I have my fingers crossed. I'm in good health, though my upper chest and throat were french fried with radiation twenty years ago, and that's my vulnerable area for colds and flu. Still, for the last twenty years I haven't really gotten sick, just get long unpleasant sore throats.

Streak is loving this shit. She gets more walks than ever.

Nothing, really. Only wearing a mask when I go to the store because it's required. I generally tried to avoid people and was a frequent hand washer before all this shit happened.

Right? I have been practicing social distancing since the 90's.

Eating well, plenty of hydration, taking my meds and exercising. Of course, masking up and social distancing when necessary.

Balancing time between work and family. Home schooling the kids as best as the missus and I can do.

Taking any extra time I have to self educate. Getting up to speed with Amazon Web Services(AWS) in efforts to improve my business offerings. Digging more into Splunk for my other job. And learning while working on Google classroom deployment for a school district that I consult for.

When this is "over" its just a shift to being able to get out easier to jump at business opportunities.

The first person to die of Covid-19 in the U S. was Patricia Dowd, a healthy 57-year-old woman from San Jose who regularly exercised. The virus weakened her heart, causing it to rupture.

So honestly it doesn't sound as if we can physically do anything to stop the virus from killing -- and in the case of younger people -- maiming through strokes -- us once it invades our bodies.

All we can do now is hope we never catch it. And if we do, that our immune systems don't kill us in tackling the virus.

At least we're not living in the Middle Ages and facing the black plague. What a horrible time that was.

I wear a mask and gloves when I work, guess I’m an essential worker as I work for a beer distributor.
Other wise I stay fit with long walks and hikes with Duke the Beagle.push ups and light dumb bell work.
Regular vodka and tequila injections seem to help.

Workouts have taken a hit but this has been a good excuse to improve my running technique. Also eating a lot better since all my meals are at home now. Wear a mask when shopping but not when I’m out away from people. Not that concerned personally, but don’t want to be infecting my family so a bit extra vigilant.
