get it while it's easy
Nothing formal / in person yet. She's been pretty quick to catch on when we expose her to new tasks. When in the backyard at home she'll fetch her toys and 'drop it' when I tell her too. You can see her fighting her urges, and occasionally she'll give into them, but for the most part she enjoys the praise for dropping it more than the toy itself.
Leash training is a bitch. She's not having any of it. She pulls very mildly when at home and on our cul de sac, but once in 'public' she looses her mind! We're trying one of those over the snout leashes to see if that helps.
At home she will respond to treats and praise, in public...not so much.
you might consider getting her (and yourself) into formal training soon. she’s going to keep getting bigger and much stronger; and if her assertiveness under certain circumstances goes unchecked for too long, it will be that much harder to rein her in. large, powerful dogs can be very dangerous if they are not very well trained and completely controllable (especially by voice as it is unlikely anyone could physically control her once she is mature) - and the exceptionally smart ones (like her breed) - even more so. do yourself, your family and especially her a favor and get the two of you into training. she’ll pay the biggest price for any failure on your part to be able to control her. treat her like a loaded gun - because in public, that’s what she is going to become.
on a happier note - LOVE the pics! she’s GORGEOUS!!!
