The Instant Noodle Thread

Don’t know which brand, I found “spicy curry” ramen once... at 99 Ranch I think. It had FIVE flavour packets!!! Easily best tasting instant ramen I’ve ever had. Never found it again though. :(

Here’s what I usually do:

1. Open up all flavour packets and use to marinate thinly sliced meats (~3mm thick from Asian markets, beef, pork, chicken, lamb, etc.)

2. Grill marinated meats, grated carrot, sliced onion/shallots, chopped cabbage, peas, bok-choi, etc. in pot with olive oil, about 2-3 minutes

3. Add water and bring to boil

4. Add ramen noodles,

5. Simmer 2-3 minutes and it’s done!

I’ve fooled people with this. Passed it off as homemade-from-scratch noodle soup!

I liked the flavor of the volcano ones better than the x2. I ate both cases though.

Not instant but I had ramen from Silverlake Ramen in Concord last night. Was not impressed. The gyoza, however, were amaze.

I've not heard good things about the Silverlakes outside of the original one down here... in Silverlake. The resisted for a long time to not expand.

Guess they saw the dollar signs spinning and general pressure to expand. :x

Oh well.
