Indoor growing seems so anti ecological to me.
Extract, process and ship coal (or whatev) to make electricity to be transmitted to make light as close as possible to sunshine. Meanwhile, there is this glowing orb thing in the sky, for free.

Capitalism rocks. Rocks insanity.

HA!! I've been debating starting this thread! :laughing

I've got one indoors right meow in my Phototron (throwin it waaaaay back) that's about to get pulled and trimmed. I'll toss another clone in there in a couple weeks when I start my outdoor grows.

Gonna grow in burlap grow bags this round. I can't plant in the ground due to goddamn gophers, and I'm not a fan of the large plastic pots.
I have drip watering set up on timers already, and they'll be in full sun for about 7 or 8 hours a day.
I've got some really good seeds from recent product, and some that have been kicking it in a camera film case for over twenty years; I have about a 50% success ratio with those. I'll start a couple from each batch this week and see if any of them sprout. :banana

You get to grow once per year, and you better be in a good region to do it.

Also, it better be legal and your neighbors better be cool about it and not steal your property or call the cops.

Norcal? Grow outdoors to your heart's content.
Any one of 38 states in the union? Risk going to jail and your kids sent to CPS.

Which nutrients do you guys like?

I tried doing this line by npk of raw nutrients and for the cost and trouble of weighing it out every feed I just ended up going back to flora a and b base, potassium silicate for overwatering, overdrive, big bud, superthrive, and cal mag.

I like to keep it simple. I used green kleen this time around instead of been oil and I really liked it a lot.. you can apply it during flower and not mess up bud structure or anything.

Weed has become kind of like tomato's.... Lots of time and attention required to grow good ones, or you can go to a store and buy all you need for really not much money....... I have done the hobby thing, that's fine if you want a hobby. From here on out I think I'll just go for an easy trip to the store......

I grew for a really long time. Indoors and outdoors. I found aeroponics quite easy and had a group of friends who traded clones. I once grew a huge hermaphrodite plant that gave me a billion seeds. I spent a year dropping them in planter boxes, golf courses, pretty much anywhere they would grow in public. I was "Johnny Potseed." Oh, stopped growing due to wifes complaining about the house constantly stinking and not beeing able to bring friends over.

Johnny Potseed, love it!

Coincidentally enough, marijuana and tomato plants have almost the exact same requirements as far as sunlight, nutrients, soil, etc.
Back in the dark ages we'd research and buy growing materials for tomatoes since weed was still the devil's drug.

As others have said, it's a fun little hobby. I can go buy a miniature replica of my Harley but it's fun to build my own from a model kit.

Yes I remember going into a hardware store in SF around 2000 when I tried growing my plants, and the dude immediately asked if I was trying to grow tomato plants with a wink wink smile.

And really, the requirements are quite similar: hot intense light, periodic deep waterings, lots of fertilizer.

Pot is weed, right? Interesting if it became an invasive species and was growing wild all over the place.

Lets market a plastic kit of a pot plant! :laughing

A lot of hemp was grown in Indiana during WWll. As a result it grows all over.

The fiber. Hemp is technically the same plant, but quite a bit different. Think feed corn vs sweet corn.

I understand you can make all sorts of things from hemp. Just think of the opportunities with a little genecic engineering!

Shit, I don't smoke but, now i'm sort of compelled to grow it for moral reasons to offset the bullshit and mostly racist ideology that set the "war on drugs" ship sailing.

I grew a couple plants last year. I don't smoke much, I just wanted to see if I could grow them.

I thought they were pretty easy to take care of. Sun, water, fertilizer.

pro tip

mason jars should only be 50-75% filled ever

the remaining space lets the weed do its thang, if you fill it 90-100% the weed doesnt get to do its thang, some weird scientific breathing thingamijig

well dont be surprised in a few months opening up the mason jars it smells

meh

since the cannabis industry is on fire right now, there are alot more humidity controlled curing/storage containers available right now that absorbs and controls the moisture levels in the actual jar/container

also you should be "burping" the jars every now and then depending on where its at in the cure stages
