Son, there are all kinds of folks in this world and you're gonna end up dealing with all of them at some point in your life. Some of the kids you'll be in school with for the next 12 years will remember the fact that you dressed up as a princess and they'll let you know that and try to make you feel bad. That's not nice, but it's gonna happen. Now whether you want to deal with that for the next twelve years is up to you, and I'll support your decision. However, the best way to get on those peoples best side is to get into a costume that they will like and respect. Did you want the Darth Maul or Kylo Ren? Maybe the Captain America or Deadpool?

How about teaching your kid not to be friends with people that are dicks? Fuck the haters, if they want to tease and belittle someone for their appearance or choice in costume...I wouldn't want my kid on their "best side" because that side is still shittier than a decent persons worst side. Actively encouraging a kid to explore both could be considered slightly extreme in todays society but when a kid makes a decision its usually a whole lot less nefarious of an exploration than adults perceive it to be.
:two finger

Not trying to start an argument, but should the parents, of the kid that grew his hair out for cancer, have then suggested that he not do something he wanted because kids would tease him? Looking out for someone's emotional well-being should simply be supporting them, its up to them to figure out if it was worth it.

I bet the "Princess" got more candy. All part of the plan. :thumbup

I was seriously in to trash trucks when I was 6, Tonka had 4 different kinds.

When I was 5, while we were out traveling from here to there, the manager of Sambos, a complete stranger, gave us a tour of the kitchen. I was extremely fascinated by them making pancakes. The press down batter thing captivated me. I got like 20 of them. That was a really cool day.

Stray dogs at night in the coffee shop, not sure thats a great idea.
Kid in a girls dress, I might have a talk with him first, maybe suggest a Spiderman costume instead.

you're a douche. how does it affect your life that a 6 year old wears a dress?

ufff... heart-squishing. My son's name is also Lukas. I cannot fathom what losing him when he was 7 months old would have been like.

Awesome. Thank you Lukas's mom.

^Cliff's notes? (or is the fact that a kid buys a mainframe and moves it to his parents' basement reason enough to have faith in humanity? :dunno)
